Actress Jun Ji-hyun will part ways with her agency, Ieum Hashtag.
On the 24th, a representative from Ieum Hashtag stated to OSEN, “The exclusive contract with Jun Ji-hyun is ending. We have decided not to renew the contract.”
Jun Ji-hyun has been with Ieum Hashtag since its founding in 2022. Ieum Hashtag is a newly established management company set up by CEO Kim Sun-jung, who previously led the CultureDepot, and Jun Ji-hyun has built a deep trust with CEO Kim since the CultureDepot days.
Having debuted as a magazine model in 1997 and actively pursuing acting after the drama “My Love is Taken Away,” Jun Ji-hyun rose to stardom with the film “My Sassy Girl.” Since then, she has solidified her position as one of Korea’s top beauty actresses, often referred to as one of the “Tae-hee, Hye-kyo, and Ji-hyun” trio alongside Kim Tae-hee and Song Hye-kyo.
In particular, Jun Ji-hyun has continuously expanded her filmography as an actress, not just as a visual star. She has continued to succeed with films such as “The Thieves,” “Berlin,” and “Assassination,” as well as dramas like “My Love from the Star” and “The Legend of the Blue Sea.” Additionally, she has granted roles in works including “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” and “Jirisan.”
She is set to unveil the Disney+ original “Polaris” soon. This story features an internationally renowned diplomat and former UN ambassador pursuing the truth behind a massive incident with a nationality-less special agent. “Polaris” is anticipated for its collaboration between Jun Ji-hyun and actor Gang Dong-won.
Additionally, Jun Ji-hyun is poised for a screen comeback with the film “Military Rule” after a decade since “Assassination.” Her move to part ways with her agency before her active endeavors draws attention.
