The production team of 'I Am Solo' expressed their stance on editing and deleting content related to the cast members who were arrested on charges of sexual assault. Meanwhile, Young-cheol, who has been identified as the subject of the arrest, has suddenly switched his SNS to private, raising suspicions.
On the 24th, the team at Joonjang Entertainment, responsible for producing the ENA and SBS Plus variety show 'I Am Solo', released an official statement saying, "We have confirmed that an investigation regarding the cast members is underway, and the production team recognizes the seriousness of the matter and plans to take measures to ensure that viewers experience no discomfort during the broadcast."
The team also published an apology on their official account stating, "We apologize for causing concern to many viewers who love 'I Am Solo.' Our production team learned about the court's issuance of an arrest warrant regarding the criminal charges against grants' Park through news reports on the morning of the 24th."
The production team promised, "Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, we will take measures to ensure that viewers experience no discomfort during the broadcast. We will also strive to edit and delete the cast members from previously aired episodes as much as possible."
They added, "Despite requesting the cast's attention and vigilance before and after the broadcast, the production team feels a sense of responsibility and regret regarding the occurrence of such an incident. We will maintain strict management to ensure that cast members fulfill their obligations under the contract even after filming. We will commit to producing the program carefully to repay the viewers' affectionate interest."
Earlier that day, Yonhap News TV reported that the Mapo Police Station in Seoul had urgently arrested a 30-something man, identified as Park, on charges of attempted rape. According to the report, Park is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in a parking lot in the Seogyo-dong area of Mapo-gu, Seoul, around 3:30 a.m. on the 21st. The police applied for an arrest warrant after urgently detaining Park, and the court issued the warrant the night before.
In particular, Park has been reported to have continued his broadcasting activities by appearing consecutively in 'I Am Solo' and 'I Am Solo, The After Love Goes On' (hereinafter referred to as 'NaSolSaGye').
Following this, various speculations about the identity of the cast member arrested on charges of sexual assault flooded online. Arguments supporting the theory that it is Young-cheol from the 25th season have gained traction, based on the fact that he appeared in both 'I Am Solo' and 'NaSolSaGye' and that his last name is 'Park'. Young-cheol did not form a final couple in the 'I Am Solo' 25th season that concluded in April, and he has been appearing once again as a special guest in 'NaSolSaGye' since last month.
Moreover, he has recently raised suspicions by suddenly switching his SNS to private. As the production team has promised to edit and delete the problematic cast member "Park," viewers are showing significant interest in the upcoming broadcast of 'NaSolSaGye' on the 26th.
