Comedian Kim Tae-kyun shared his life focused on "happiness."
On the 24th, comedian Kim Tae-kyun appeared as a guest on KBS1's "Morning Garden."
That day, Kim Tae-kyun talked about his new song, saying, "I wrote the lyrics myself. It is a song called 'That's how to be happy.' A singer named Beomjin composed it. He is the younger brother of Jinju, and he writes great songs. I asked him, and he gladly agreed, so I wrote the lyrics. I may not seem like it, but I've written a lot of lyrics. I can’t compose, but I have a pen name. It will surprise you. My pen name is 'Lyric Assistant.'"
Anchor Moon Ji-in asked, "Do you get royalties?" and Kim Tae-kyun honestly revealed, "A little comes in. But it’s not much."
Anchor Kim Jae-won asked, "At this rate, you might end up composing too," and Kim Tae-kyun said, "I don't have the ability to compose. If I learn, I have a pen name ready. It's 'Composing Rice.'" This made everyone laugh.
Later, anchor Kim Jae-won asked Kim Tae-kyun about "happiness," and Kim Tae-kyun revealed, "I started focusing a lot on happiness after my mother passed away 11 years ago."
He said, "My mother said in her last words, 'Life is short to be meaningless. So don't do anything else, just do what you like and what you wanted to do, and live enjoying it.' After she said that, I focused on happiness. I thought, 'What do I like?'"
He continued, "Happiness feels like concentrating on this moment of finding and enjoying what I wanted to do and what I like. For example, if I like tteokbokki, I look for a place that serves delicious tteokbokki and eat it, saying, 'I'm crazy, it's so delicious.' Isn't this where the focus is? Don't you forget everything else? This moment is happiness."
Anchor Kim Jae-won said, "At this moment, there are tears welling up in Tae-kyun's eyes," and Kim Tae-kyun added, "You know those actors that housewives like? Park Bo-gum appears, and Byeon Wooseok appears, and that moment is happiness. It's nothing special."
