LE SSERAFIM is continuing their local popularity with the release of their fourth Japanese single alongside their Japan tour.
At midnight on the 24th, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chae-won, Sakura, Heo Yoon-jin, Kazuha, Hong Eun-chae) released their fourth Japanese single 'DIFFERENT'. Prior to this, at 12 a.m. on the 23rd, a performance film of the title track was uploaded on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel. In the video, the five members, wearing sportswear emblazoned with the team logo, create a friendly atmosphere as they film each other with a camcorder. They then showcase their choreography freely and leisurely to a groovy beat on a skateboard park. Notably, when transitioning to the next part, they incorporate witty gestures such as playfully pushing each other or pointing with their fingers so that other members get attention.
The title track 'DIFFERENT' is LE SSERAFIM's first original title track in Japan and was pre-released on the 9th. As the disco funk genre that LE SSERAFIM is attempting for the first time, it adds charm to the song with its bouncy melody and catchy hooks. This song ranked 9th on the 'World Digital Song Sales' chart from the American music media Billboard (dated June 21). It is the first time that a LE SSERAFIM original song has entered this chart. Additionally, it has proven to be a hit by ranking 4th on Billboard Japan's 'Hot Shot Songs' chart (dated June 18) and securing positions on multiple charts.
In this single, in addition to the title track, there are a total of three songs including the Japanese version of the title track 'HOT', which was introduced in Korea last March, and 'Kawaii (Prod. Gen Hoshino)'. The three songs convey the message that 'living as one's true self is what makes one unique and shows the differences from others.'
LE SSERAFIM conveys the meaning of 'I will burn everything for what I love, even if I cannot know the ending' in 'HOT -Japanese ver.-'. The famous Japanese singer-songwriter Gen Hoshino is in charge of producing 'Kawaii (Prod. Gen Hoshino)', and Heo Yoon-jin participated in writing the English lyrics. This song encapsulates the theme that 'cuteness has the strong power to transform one's individuality into an advantage' and will also be used as the theme song for the Netflix series 'My Melody & Kuromi', which will be released on July 24.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM recently successfully concluded their first world tour in Japan, titled '2025 LE SSERAFIM TOUR ‘EASY CRAZY HOT’ IN JAPAN', held in Nagoya, Osaka, Kitakyushu, and Saitama. They will hold an encore concert at Tokyo Dome on November 18-19.
