Broadcaster Park Soo-hong is currently engaged in a civil lawsuit regarding advertising model fees for the second year.
According to a media report on the 23rd, Park Soo-hong filed a civil lawsuit stating that he had not received 496 million won for the convenience store squid product he participated in as an advertising model in September 2023.
The report stated that after the lawsuit was filed, the court conducted mediation procedures for both parties to reach an agreement, but it failed, and thereafter the formal litigation process continued. Park Soo-hong's side reportedly adjusted their litigation strategy, including changing the claims and reasons for claims twice.
In response, the court issued a reconciliation recommendation in September 2024; however, the defendant's side filed an objection, delaying the judgment. Starting in 2025, Park Soo-hong's legal representative was changed to the law firm Lin, and after the resumption of the litigation, a substantive first hearing was held in April 2025. A third hearing is scheduled for August.
In relation to this, an attempt to contact the law firm Lin, representing Park Soo-hong, was made but the law firm Lin stated to OSEN, "We will contact you after confirming with the responsible person," without providing any further stance.
Meanwhile, unrelated to this, Park Soo-hong is currently pursuing a lawsuit against his older brother and sister-in-law, claiming they have embezzled his grants and assets. He is also continuing the trial while mentioning his brother-in-law as the mastermind behind those spreading false information about him and his wife.
In this situation, with all family members except his youngest brother siding with his older brother and sister-in-law, Park Soo-hong is proceeding with the trial while being estranged from his family.
Park Soo-hong's older brother and sister-in-law are accused of embezzling a total of 6.17 billion won from Park Soo-hong during their exclusive management of him for more than ten years from 2011 to 2021, involving the corporations Rael and Media Boom, as well as Park Soo-hong's personal funds.
Denying most of the embezzlement allegations except for attorney appointment expenses, the court sentenced Park Soo-hong's older brother, Mr. Park, to two years in prison, while his wife, Ms. Lee, was acquitted. However, after the first trial ended, both sides announced their intention to appeal, and the appeal trial is currently ongoing.
