A student from Seoul National University, which operates a business with annual revenue of 1.5 billion won, will appear on "Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller."
In episode 321 of "Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller," airing at 8:30 p.m. today (23rd), the guest, a 4th-year student in the Department of Business Administration at Seoul National University, reveals that they are currently running a business with approximately 1.5 billion won in annual revenue while expressing concern about whether to graduate.
The guest recounts feeling inspired to start a business after reading the autobiography of Starbucks founder Howard Schultz during elementary school and recalls seeing a post online stating that a good educational background is advantageous for business success. They began studying diligently from high school onwards, using various methods to improve their grades.
The guest shares that they studied so hard, feeling almost obsessive, that they lived on only three hours of sleep each night, resulting in worsened insomnia symptoms. Drawing from this experience and the fact that many people struggle with sleep, they now operate a sleep beverage business.
The guest notes that their business started generating about 300 million won in revenue per month from this year, with sales expected to reach 5 billion won this year. However, the guest confesses that they have taken a long leave of absence from school due to focusing on their business for an extended period. They tried returning to school out of concern for their parents, but balancing academics and business proved to be too challenging.
The guest also expresses their worries about experiencing stalking by an individual investor and shares their struggles with worsening obsessive symptoms.
Lee Sugeun listens to the story and offers advice, saying, "It seems like you've only done what you wanted to do," and adds, "Sometimes, people need to do things they don't want to do."
