Ballet dancer Yoon Hye-jin shared her thoughts on the past personal life controversy surrounding her husband, actor Um Tae-woong. After the incident, Yoon Hye-jin confessed that she had forgiven her husband once and stated her position again as discussions continued regarding Um Tae-woong's return.

On the 22nd, Yoon Hye-jin posted on her personal SNS account, "I cannot choose what happened to me, but I can choose how to react to it. Choosing one's attitude is the final freedom of a human being."

This post is interpreted as Yoon Hye-jin indirectly expressing her opinion as discussions continued among netizens regarding Um Tae-woong's return.

Earlier, Yoon Hye-jin announced that her husband Um Tae-woong's work, "I Kill You," was invited to this year's Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Since her husband Um Tae-woong is making a comeback after the personal life controversy, she felt the need to announce this and convey her congratulations.

Yoon Hye-jin further reflected, "I find myself contemplating the times I quietly held my heart together. I wondered if such a day would really come, imagining it, while also thinking it might not come as well. I sincerely thank you for allowing me to experience such a miraculous moment." She also added that the audience talk schedule for "I Kill You" coincides with her late mother's birthday, stating, "I cannot shake the feeling that my mother is watching over me."

After Yoon Hye-jin congratulated Um Tae-woong on his return, various reactions emerged. Um Tae-woong gained much love after marrying Yoon Hye-jin in 2013 and revealing his parenting life with their daughter Ji-on on KBS 2TV's variety program "The Return of Superman." However, in 2016, he became embroiled in controversy after being accused of sexual assault by an employee (A) of a massage parlor.

Police investigations revealed that A colluded with the business owner to demand money and accused Um Tae-woong, but he faced a fine of 1 million won for sexual prostitution and underwent a long period of self-reflection. In 2017, he appeared in the film "Pockrain," but did not show up in formal domestic events.

While Um Tae-woong took time for self-reflection, Yoon Hye-jin did her best to maintain their family. She started personal activities, including a YouTube channel, and appeared in variety programs such as "Liberation Town." She actively communicated through SNS and YouTube, occasionally sharing updates featuring Um Tae-woong's voice.

In particular, Yoon Hye-jin revealed her feelings in April 2020 through her personal channel, stating, "At that time, the inside was not what it seemed. Still, Ji-on and I were together in Bali. Whether it looked good or not, we were together. From my perspective, my husband seems to have undergone sufficient self-reflection. That’s why the wife forgives him."

Yoon Hye-jin also stated, "After my husband's incident, I thought about how to live. At that time, I had many thoughts about whether I could continue living my current lifestyle. I think the saying 'a blessing in disguise' applies here." She added, "I am not saying I hope my husband acts again. It would be good if he does, but if not, it cannot be helped. He must face consequences for what he has done."

Yoon Hye-jin further requested, "But since the wife has forgiven him, I hope we do not talk about other people's affairs." This was a plea for restraint on excessive interest and criticism regarding Um Tae-woong's past controversies.

As excessive excitement continued ahead of Um Tae-woong's return, Yoon Hye-jin once again expressed her beliefs, saying, "My choice."
