Dancer Honey J and AIKI, who are once again gaining attention through Mnet's WSWF, have each addressed controversies regarding sexual harassment comments and profanity.
On the 21st, dancer Hyojin Choi uploaded a reaction video to the first episode of WSWF on her YouTube channel 'Today as well, Choi Hyojin.'
In the video, Honey J stated while watching Danica's dance in WSWF, "Hey, is that dancing? That's XX," and some viewers pointed out that Honey J sexually harassed Danica, criticizing her. Additionally, AIKI's use of the profanity "You XX" also became a problem.
Ultimately, Honey J expressed her apologies on the 22nd, saying, "I deeply apologize to those who were hurt by my careless words from the YouTube video uploaded last night and to the many who support me."
She continued, "I gathered with the members in a comfortable setting to watch the first broadcast of WSWF together. During that time, I became immersed in the situation and reacted strongly toward the opposing dancer, and I deeply reflect on the discomfort my thoughtless behavior caused to those watching."
Moreover, Honey J stated that she apologized to the dancer who was the target of her sexual harassment comments. She said, "As soon as I became aware of the situation, I personally expressed my apologies to the opposing crew dancers. While it could have been unpleasant, I once again convey my apologies to the dancer who generously understood. It was my oversight for not recognizing the weight of my expression. I sincerely apologize to everyone."
She added, "Through this incident, I realized how much impact one’s words and actions can have. I will not take any words lightly and will make sure not to repeat my mistakes. I will listen carefully to the feedback from those who pointed out my shortcomings and will act with more caution and depth in my thoughts and actions in the future. I sincerely apologize once again for disappointing the many who supported me."
AIKI also apologized. She stated, "I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable due to my emotionally intense expressions used in the recently released YouTube reaction video."
She continued, "The stronger my passion for the stage, the more my emotions can take the lead, but I have once again realized that I must be cautious so that those emotions do not wound others. I apologize once again to the opposing crew."
Finally, she added, "In the future, I will communicate with a more careful attitude in any situation. I will gratefully take to heart all the constructive criticisms and support."
Meanwhile, the controversial video has since been deleted.
