Singer and songwriter Yoon Jong-shin has revealed that he suddenly experienced abdominal pain due to Crohn's disease.

On the 21st, Yoon Jong-shin said, "I haven't had Crohn's abdominal pain in a while. I couldn't eat with my group while golfing and just left. Please don't misunderstand," adding, "Crohn's always comes like this. You came to me about 30 years ago, and I learned your name, Crohn, about 20 years ago. Now, it feels like a friend. A bad one." This post raised concerns among fans.

Prior to this, Yoon Jong-shin had mentioned in various entertainment and radio broadcasts that he has been suffering from Crohn's disease for a long time.

Yoon Jong-shin said, "I have had this disease since middle school. I discovered it in my late 30s, but looking back, I realize I had been suffering from Crohn's disease since middle school. It's an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract. Since middle school, I have had unexplained diarrhea and abdominal pain. There have been times when the symptoms come and go. I lived without knowing that from my teens to my 30s. I drank alcohol and smoked like my friends in their 20s. If I had known earlier, I would have lived healthier."

Yoon Jong-shin also stated, "I was diagnosed in 2006 and underwent surgery where 60 cm of my small intestine was removed and reattached. I was told there were three areas of inflammation. I generally eat well, but if you look at photos from the 1990s, I was very thin. It was because of Crohn's disease," adding, "If I manage it well and take good care, my life expectancy is the same as that of an average person."

Yoon Jong-shin's wife and former national tennis player Jeon Mi-ra said in a 2015 episode of MBC's "Human Documentary - People are Good" that "her husband still experiences bloody stools due to Crohn's disease," adding, "So I tell him reassuringly and tell him not to worry, saying it's not a deathly illness. I, being a person with a lot of good energy, also shared those words with him, saying let's move forward together," while shedding tears.

In the entertainment industry, besides Yoon Jong-shin, other artists like trot singer Yeong-ki have also confessed to having Crohn's disease.
