Actress Yoon Hye-jin expressed her overwhelming emotions regarding the news of her husband Eom Tae-woong's comeback project after about 9 years, 'I Kill You,' being invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).
Yoon Hye-jin said on the 21st through her Instagram, 'I can’t help but reflect on the times I've silently held my heart together and endured.' She added, 'I wondered if such a day could really come, imagining it but also thinking it might not ever arrive,' revealing her long wait.
She continued, 'I sincerely thank you for allowing me to meet such a miraculous moment,' expressing her overwhelming feelings. In particular, she noted that the GV (guest visit) schedule for 'I Kill You,' which will take place on July 9th, coincides with her mother's birthday, saying, 'I can’t shake the thought that my mom is watching over me.'
In response, Eom Tae-woong's sister, singer and actress Uhm Jung-hwa, commented with heart and tear emojis, expressing her emotion.
'I Kill You' is a youth action story about a young man named 'Seon-woo,' who was once a promising taekwondo athlete but struggles to make ends meet through various part-time jobs, stepping forward in front of the press instead of the granddaughter of a major corporation, 'Ji-yeon,' who is implicated in a fatal hit-and-run case. Singer and actress Kang Ji-young and Lee Gi-kwang play the lead roles of 'Ji-yeon' and 'Seon-woo,' respectively.
This work is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first drama directed by Yoo Ha, who has a distinguished filmography with works like 'Marriage is a Crazy Thing,' 'The Cruel History of Maljukgeori,' 'Sanghwajeom,' and 'Howling.' The film version of 'I Kill You' will be premiered as a world premiere at this year's Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
Eom Tae-woong plays the role of a 'resolver' in the drama, appearing as a key character. His return is drawing attention, especially since it marks a long-awaited official comeback. Eom Tae-woong's last appearance in a drama was in the 2016 SBS 'Wanted,' and before that, he showcased his solid acting in numerous masterpieces such as 'Revival,' 'The Devil,' 'Queen Seondeok,' 'Dr. Champ,' 'Sword and Flower,' and 'Special Investigations.' He proved his strong acting skills in films such as 'You Are Far Away,' 'Cell Phone,' and 'Architecture 101,' and is expected to showcase deeper inner acting through this project.
Yoon Hye-jin said, 'A few years ago, I promised the 'Jilchuk' fans that if such a day came, I would let them know first,' adding, 'So, I wanted to inform you before anyone else.'
The post received supportive comments such as 'It was worth the wait,' 'A tearful moment,' and 'It's great to see actor Eom Tae-woong again,' creating a warm atmosphere.

As I quietly held my heart together and endured the past years,
I wondered if such a day could really come...
In the unanswered waiting, I tried to be hopeful and imagined,
Also, on the other hand, I thought it might never come.
Thus, more than ten years have passed.
And like this, I sincerely thank you for allowing me to experience this miraculous moment.
I sincerely appreciate it.
Coincidentally, the GV screening day, July 9th,
is my mother's birthday this year.
It could just be a coincidence, but somehow,
I can’t shake the thought that my mom is watching over me.
A few years ago, I made a promise to our 'Jilchuk' fans.
That if such a day comes, I would let you know first.
So... I wanted to let you know first.
The drama 'I Kill You,' which my brother filmed two years ago,
has been produced as a film version.
And it has been invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
And on July 22nd, the drama version will
be released on Coupang Play.
Thank you so very much.
Everything is thanks to you all.
To those who have quietly supported me all this time, our Jilchuks... thank you so much.
