Chansong Lee of 'Immortal Songs' will reunite with Song Sohee after 17 years and greet her warmly.
KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' (directed by Park Hyung-keun, Kim Hyung-seok, and Choi Seung-beom) has been the undisputed best music variety program, ranking first in viewership for nearly 14 years. The upcoming broadcast of episode 711 on the 21st will be a special edition for the '2025 Gyeongju APEC'.
On this day, Song Sohee will take the stage to showcase 'My Country, Korea' and 'Odolttogi', conveying the resonance and depth of our sound. Song Sohee noted, "As I performed at various events with a national background and cultural heritage, I felt that the song I held in my heart was more important than anything else," and she shared the background of her direct involvement in the songwriting process, stating, "'My Country, Korea' is a song that conveys my feelings about how this country was built and how we should live."
In particular, the surprise reunion between MC Chansong Lee and Song Sohee will draw everyone's attention. Chansong Lee said, "I don't know if Song Sohee remembers, but we are meeting after 17 years." To this, MC Shin Dong-yeob reacted in surprise, saying, "What was that, in the past?" with a playful look. The two's connection goes back to the 2008 'National Song Contest'. At that time, Chansong Lee received the 'Popularity Award', while Song Sohee received the 'Best Award for the First Half'. This special edition aims to pray for the successful hosting of 'APEC 2025 KOREA', which will be held in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, in October. 'Immortal Songs' will showcase the stage of global K-pop stars to elevate the status of K-pop around the world. Artists across all generations will gather, including iconic performers such as Psy, god, ATEEZ, Lee Seung-yoon, Song Sohee, Hwasa, Jeong Dong-won (JD1), Kiki, and Jojaez.
