Park Seo-jin fell into a 'mental breakdown' over his father's disappearance.
On the broadcast of KBS2's 'The Living Men Season 2' on the 21st (Saturday), ILLIT's Won-hee appeared as a grant guest, revealing a vacant house with no one but Park Seo-jin's father.
His father recently got injured while working on a boat, leading to a temporary suspension of work. In the midst of the silence, while watching TV, his father looked at the mountains and expressed, "The mountains are indeed nice. The trees are straight, too. I would be happy living in the mountains." He further lamented, "There’s nothing to do at home. I came to Incheon to see the kids. Everyone is just pretending not to notice. I felt very disappointed. My heart feels empty and such."
Park Seo-jin reflected, "After watching the video, I think I should have been more observant." Meanwhile, his father made a significant declaration, stating, "I've lived for my family for seventy years, and now I think I should live my life once."
The next morning, his father headed to the mountains to begin the mountain life he had been dreaming of. A native of Samcheok, who lived by the sea his entire life, he couldn't hide his excitement about the first mountain life, shouting, "This is my world!" and felt happier than ever.
At that moment, the family had no idea about his father’s escapade. Then, a call came from his father in the mountains. Park Seo-jin expressed concern, saying, "Previously, my mom and dad's boat had a hole and sank. They were sleeping, and they almost passed away on the same day." Moreover, his father, who had been suffering from diabetes, occasionally experiences hypoglycemic shock.
Park Seo-jin shared, "A few hours out may seem trivial, but whenever something bad happened, I unexpectedly received a call. Even now, he is not in good health, and I'm always scared and worried that I might get such a call again."
The family asked, "When will you come back?" but his father replied, "I won’t go back. I can just eat grass," adding, "When a person dies, they return to nature." Park Seo-jin urged, "How did you get to the mountains even though you said your arms and legs hurt? Did you bring your diabetes medication? Hurry back home," but his father hung up, saying, "Don’t worry about me. I’m going to live in the mountains."
The entire family was worried, and Park Seo-jin and his sister set out to find their dad. Park Seo-jin remarked, "My dad has never done anything like this. At 70 years old, to run away without any preparation is concerning, especially since an ambulance can't reach the mountains."
