Suga of the group BTS has completed his service as a social service worker on the 18th by using up his remaining vacation.
According to the music industry on the 19th, Suga effectively finished his duty as a social service worker by using his remaining vacation after completing his service on the 18th. This is a normal use of vacation, and his scheduled discharge date is the 21st.
Suga began his alternative military service as a social service worker in September 2023 and served for 21 months. The agency, HYBE, previously noted, "There will be no separate official event on the day of discharge, and we sincerely ask fans to refrain from visiting the site to prevent safety accidents due to congestion."
With Suga returning to fans, BTS is preparing for a full group comeback after completing their military service. Prior to Suga, Jin and J-Hope were discharged last year, and RM and V were discharged on the 10th, followed by Jimin and Jungkook on the 11th.
Members of BTS made headlines by appearing together on the first day of J-Hope's world tour encore concert "HOPE ON THE STAGE FANAL" held at Goyang Gymnasium in Ilsanseo-gu on the 13th. Jin and Jungkook made surprise guest appearances, while V, RM, Jimin, and Suga were captured watching the performance from the audience on the big screen.
On this day, J-Hope said, "I love you," while greeting the members, adding, "I am very thankful to our members. Today is a special day for everyone. It's the time when all the members have completed their military service. We have so much to show you, right? We will work hard to prepare, so please look forward to it, and let's give a round of applause for the friends who have returned healthy. I always did it while looking at the members. The members are precious to me."
As the members of BTS consistently express their will for a full group comeback, expectations are growing about what steps the complete BTS will take in the future.
The CEO of HYBE stated at HYBE's regular shareholders meeting in March that "BTS members are scheduled to finish their military service by the end of the first half of this year and will need time for preparation and work for their return activities."
He continued, "The company is preparing in consultation with top-tier songwriters, but the artists' contemplation and preparation are necessary." He added, "Typically, after working on songs and releasing albums, we proceed with a tour, but since the members of BTS have already risen to global top artists, ongoing discussions about vision and the next steps are necessary, and it is essential to consider aligning these directions."
