Actor Ryu Jin disclosed his grand new house he will be moving into.
On the 16th, a video titled "Ryu Jin fights fiercely while touring the house to move into (new house, separate rooms, couple's quarrel)" was uploaded on the "Most Awesome Ryu Jin" channel.
That day, Ryu Jin headed to his new house in Cheongna-dong, Incheon, with his wife. He explained, "Where we are is that we went to real estate back then. After walking around, we've secured our new house to move into." He then said, "I have a chance to see the house because we are moving out first, so I'm trying to see what kind of furniture can fit in. What can be brought in?"
After that, the couple inspected the interior of the new house. The spacious entrance had ample storage space. His wife stated, "There are definitely a lot of shoe cabinets. We had a tough time," and Ryu Jin marveled, "The tall shoe cabinet is really nice. Every time I opened the door, my shoes were stuck; it's amazing."
However, the master bedroom is right next to the entrance. His wife said, "This is said to be a bit undesirable," and Ryu Jin expressed his desire for the master bedroom, saying, "I can use it, right?" His wife replied, "I'm going to use the master bedroom, so what are you talking about?" which made everyone laugh. The inside of the house was entirely designed with large windows. His wife shared, "I like the garden view. I thought I wouldn’t come back to an APT. because there was a lower-level garden view, but this lower level came out just right. So, I briefly looked here, saw only the garden view outside, and immediately liked it (and signed the contract). I came when the azaleas were in full bloom before. I was so captivated by it. The sound of the wind is so nice," expressing her satisfaction.
Ryu Jin mentioned, "I prefer double-glazed windows. That's important," offering another perspective. He explained, "The problem is that having windows is nice for openness, but in a house with a lot of stuff, there will inevitably be situations where it needs to be hidden. It feels a bit wasteful at times." At this, the production staff asked, "Is this the master bedroom? Are you two sharing it?" and Ryu Jin humorously admitted, "We don’t live together in one house.." referring to the 'separate rooms.'
Moving to the next room, his wife said, "When I came here, I was going to make your room here. I want to store stuff in the veranda. I think you can utilize it well. Put all the Lego display cases inside here." Ryu Jin responded, "That needs to be excluded. It's too big and thick. If that comes in, it's over." Hearing this, the production staff joked, "Why not get rid of it this time?" to which Ryu Jin retorted, "The display case is quite famous as My Museum." He then asked, "Isn’t there a place outside for the Lego cases? Just stylishly, in a way that doesn't hurt the house's interior. There used to be one in Songdo," but his wife drew the line saying, "There isn't a suitable place."
The living room also had a garden view. His wife said, "I like the forest view," pleased with the scenery visible beyond the large windows, but Ryu Jin expressed his disappointment, stating, "As for audio, I don’t like this structure." His wife added, "I want to put that audio in your room. As much as I like classical music, that..." raising an objection, and Ryu Jin opened up, "That's right, other family members don’t use it, and it's definitely occupying too much space for my own hobby in the living room, but if it goes into that room, I’ll have to stand to use it." The production crew chimed in with, "What about disposing of that?" and when Ryu Jin firmly replied, "No," it led to laughs.
The kitchen had space for two refrigerators. His wife pondered, "One refrigerator can go in, but the kimchi refrigerator isn't this big," and when the production staff asked, "That Lego case?" she dismissively replied, "No," adding to the laughter. The production crew asked, "What did you consider most important when looking for this house?" and his wife responded, "We now have our own sections, enabling us to utilize space for ourselves. Especially since Dad (Ryu Jin) has a lot of stuff." Ryu Jin countered, "They say I have a lot of things, but in my eyes, my wife's stuff is a lot. I really don’t have much stuff," prompting the production staff to suggest, "Check during the move," which left Ryu Jin flustered.
Next, after confirming the children's rooms, Ryu Jin mentioned, "I shouldn’t think that our house will be perfectly set up on moving day. We'll move when everything is tidy. That’s why people don't unpack their things."
The two then finished looking at the furniture, and Ryu Jin asked, "I saw well today, and now what should we do?" His wife replied, "We've seen enough to decide how to arrange things. We need to think a bit more about the sofa, and since the kids' room will be a space we can’t interfere with, I think we'll have to negotiate with them. We have a lot of small items. How we organize and resolve that will change the house's atmosphere. I tried to organize and get rid of things, but I couldn’t. The kids and my husband have a strong attachment to them," she stated.
Ryu Jin objected, "Not at all. I’ve thrown away everything I needed to and have very little left. The problem is, did you see the bag of dolls in our house? What are we going to do about that?" His wife retorted, "So what will we do?" pointing out that "I’ve hardly bought any of those dolls." Ryu Jin denied it, saying, "I’ve never bought them either," but his wife countered, "Don’t be ridiculous. Didn’t the three of us buy them together?" asserting, "They’ll know when they ask the kids who got those dolls," which once again flustered Ryu Jin.
Meanwhile, Ryu Jin revealed in a video released last March that he visited a real estate office to find a new house. At that time, Ryu Jin recounted, "After getting married, I lived in Sangam-dong for seven years, and the blueprint was fantastic. I moved in 2007. Back then, landmarks were coming, the GTX was introduced, and it was said to be developed with good parks; I invested looking at that future, but it briefly rose and then very slowly..." reflecting on his investment failures.
Moreover, he shared his experience of losing 3 billion won when as soon as he sold his apartment in Jamsil, the height restrictions were lifted the following day, leading to the house price exceeding 300 million won. He continued, "At the end of 2006, I bought a newlywed home in Sangam World Cup Park Complex 4 for about 700 million won. After almost 10 years, when I sold it later, the price was 750 million won. To be honest, it was a failure in wealth management. Completely." However, it was confirmed that the value of that house gradually increased just after he sold it, leaving him in despair. Ryu Jin concluded, "I held onto it for 10 years. I lived there for seven. I just don’t fit with fate like this. My father is the same way."
