The movie 'Undercover Investigation' features 'Mongolian Ma Dong-seok' Takhta mentioning the Korean actor Ma Dong-seok.
The film 'Undercover Investigation' (directed by T. Amatbushin, produced/distributed by Smile ENT, imported by Horizon Works, co-distributed by Blue Film Works) held a press screening and a media conference on the 19th at the Lotte Cinema World Tower in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. In attendance were the film's lead actors Suhkbold Lagchabazar, Niyamdtamba Baisha, Ganbayar Shavakchern, Sukbatar Batjorig, Orenchakt Charkhtsabayar, and Manlai Batar, who talked about the film with the Mongolian and domestic press.
'Undercover Investigation' is a film depicting the extraordinary undercover investigations of Mongolian legendary detectives in Korea. Although unfamiliar in Korea, these local top actors are extremely well-known in Mongolia. 'Undercover Investigation' has already achieved significant box office success in Mongolia.
The actual producer, actor, and singer of the film, Manlai Batar, along with the team leader Takhta (Sukhbold Lagchabazar), is called the 'Mongolian Ma Dong-seok' and is a popular singer from the boy band 'MAAZ'. With a witty conversational style, Baisha (Niyamdtamba Baisha) is dubbed 'the Mongolian Shin Dong-yup' and is a versatile entertainer working as an actor, director, and screenwriter. Furthermore, Chorigoo (Sukbatar Batjorig), recognized globally for his acting talent after appearing in 'I’d Rather Sleep Through Winter' (2023), the first Mongolian film invited to compete at the Cannes Film Festival, Orenchakt (Orenchakt Charkhtsabayar), who ranks among the top three Mongolian celebrities in terms of social media followers, and Jiji (Ganbayar Shavakchern), who reportedly experienced manual labor in Korea, proudly refer to themselves as 'the Mongolian G-Dragon.'
Mongolia has sparked discussion on domestic social media, being referred to as 'Mongtan New City' as its urban landscape is similar to that of Korean new cities. How do local top actors view this? Chorigoo noted, 'When Korean people come to Mongolia, many Korean things are also coming to Mongolia, so there were many similarities. In the movie, Korea is great and there is much to learn.'
Regarding the positive feedback on SNS as 'Mongolian Ma Dong-seok', Takhta remarked, 'I feel very good. 'Mongolian Ma Dong-seok' is here. I want to ask where the Korean Ma Dong-seok is.' He playfully greeted in response to a video question addressed to Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, saying, 'Hello, hyung, where are you!'
Baisha, who is also referred to as the Mongolian Shin Dong-yup, stated, 'If the Korean Shin Dong-yup were to dance, I think he would dance like this,' as he danced playfully to the Korean girl group T-ara's 'Roly Poly,' drawing cheers.
'Undercover Investigation' is set to be released in Korea on the 27th.
