The group ILLIT is achieving remarkable success not only in Korea but also in Japan with their new release.
According to the latest chart released by Oricon Japan on the 18th (as of June 17), ILLIT's mini-album 'bomb' debuted at No. 2 on the 'Daily Album Ranking' upon its local release. The album has also secured a strong position in the top album charts of iTunes Japan and Apple Music Japan, highlighting its hot popularity locally.
ILLIT also topped the Hanteo daily album chart on the first day of the release of 'bomb' in Korea (as of June 16). ILLIT's consistent upward trend is evident as they break their previous first-day sales records with each album in both Korea and Japan.
ILLIT's upgraded skills and visuals are also a hot topic. On the 17th, ILLIT appeared on SBS PowerFM's 'Wendy's Youngstreet' to showcase a live performance of 'Do the Dance.' Their clear tones and stable vocal skills allowed them to harmonize, earning enthusiastic responses from the listeners.
On the 18th, the performance video for the title track uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Studio Dance' was captivating with dance moves as sleek as a cat's and the fantastic group choreography of the five members. ILLIT also added trendy charm with kitschy items like cat paw nail tips and cat ear-shaped headbands.
The title track 'Do the Dance' is gaining popularity due to ILLIT's addictive melody and dreamy sensibility. This song entered the Melon 'Top 100' immediately upon release, and its music video ranked No. 2 in YouTube's trending videos. The catchy point dance, notably the 'cat stretch dance' with arms outstretched, is also creating a buzz across various short-form platforms. ILLIT will reveal their new song performance today (19th) on the cable channel Mnet's 'M Countdown.'
