Jung Jae-hyung and Code Kunst explained the reason they are hosting 'Live Wire.'
On the morning of the 19th, a press conference for Mnet's 'Live Wire' was held at Community House Masil in Myeongdong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Jung Jae-hyung and Code Kunst attended the press conference along with PD Shin Yu-seon, and music critic Kim Yoon-ha was the moderator.
'Live Wire' is a new concept music entertainment show that goes beyond a simple stage to connect artists with artists, audiences with audiences, and the stage with viewers through 'music.' It aims to continue the legacy of live music programs previously showcased by Mnet while conveying the value of vibrant performances experienced directly offline. In the program, Jung Jae-hyung and Code Kunst have been selected as hosts to showcase their unique charms. The two hosts, who traverse music and entertainment, will present their refined banter and chemistry through 'Live Wire.'
What motivated the two MCs, who show their activities across both music and entertainment, to accept the offer to host a music program? First, Jung Jae-hyung said, “I was actually someone who declined the offer. My schedule was just too busy due to drama music, so it was a bit difficult to balance entertainment.”
He added, “There aren’t many opportunities for musicians, and there are not many ways to show our work aside from performances. After discussing with the producers of Mnet, and because I would be hosting with Code Kunst, I thought we would be able to differentiate ourselves from existing music programs, so I decided to participate.”
What was it about the production team’s discussions that attracted Jung Jae-hyung? He expressed, “It seemed to be the passion. Many people are working hard for one program, and in the case of 'Live Wire,' there is so much effort put into the format. Because it’s so passionate, I thought if they are going to create such a program, I should definitely consider it. The ratings for music programs are not easy, so I thought we should do this.”
When asked about the same question, Jung Jae-hyung speculated, “It might be a sense of responsibility as a senior. But I don’t feel any responsibility. I think everyone should pursue their own path, and if we can create such opportunities, then we should. If that can be seen as a sense of responsibility, then I can agree with that.”
When asked the same question, Code Kunst said, “First of all, I participated because my hyung was doing it. Because before I entered the program, it was important to me whether I was needed for this program and whether I felt interested. First, I became interested because my hyung was joining.”
He continued, “What sealed that interest was the subject of 'consolidation.' I also had encounters when I first started music. Over time, I felt there was a sense of regret in working through contacts rather than meeting in person. I found it interesting to see people who cannot meet each other through the program.”
Meanwhile, Mnet's 'Live Wire' will simultaneously air on Mnet and tvN on the 20th at 7 p.m.
