DJ Soda complained of serious hair damage after bleaching, and subsequently exposed the salon's inappropriate response and financial threats.

On the 18th, DJ Soda posted a lengthy message on her social media, pointing out the salon's response after complaining of hair damage. Earlier, DJ Soda revealed that she sought out her usual salon to go blonde for the first time in three years, but stated that her hair completely melted after the treatment.

DJ Soda said, "As an artist who originally needed to continue performing and attending events, I am compelled to provide additional explanations today due to threats from the salon side regarding the complaint I posted yesterday afternoon about my current hair condition and their intention to change the atmosphere."

She continued, "Three weeks ago, after my hair was severely damaged at the roots due to the treatment, there was not a single direct contact from the designer. However, after seeing my post, I received a message directed at my manager saying, 'I will give you 5 million won if you write a settlement agreement and take down the post.'" She stated, "I firmly say that even if offered a fortune, it cannot change my appearance now and the pain caused by it."

DJ Soda maintained that she had given sufficient opportunities to resolve the issue. After obtaining consent from the salon director, she received a scalp and hair clinic diagnosis and conveyed the care expenses, but the director wanted her to get diagnosed at a specialized hospital that could be monitored by the salon. Later, as expenses increased, the salon reportedly approached her late at night with sudden meeting requests or in ways that discomforted DJ Soda. There was no further response, and a list of specialized hospitals was not provided, and more than three weeks have passed.

DJ Soda asked, "Isn’t it the case that waiting endlessly for contact from our side without any response was just wasting time without doing anything?" She added, "We clearly requested that the salon share a list of hospitals that could be monitored, but they just repeated, 'Let’s meet and talk first,' and we never received the hospital list. In the end, is it true that you won’t provide the hospital list just because we didn’t have a face-to-face meeting? Is that really an attitude geared toward solving the problem?"

After DJ Soda left a post complaining of the damage, the salon's director reportedly called her manager, angrily shifting the responsibility to DJ Soda, the victim, in a threatening manner. DJ Soda pointed out, "It is a fact that the designer has not contacted me with any apology for more than three weeks, so why is the director getting angry as if it’s a deliberate act?"

In addition, DJ Soda stated, "I will not accept any further requests for settlement, and any inducements or monetary offers are meaningless," adding, "As someone who has bleached my hair for years, I know better than anyone how important the process is. During this treatment, the bleach was applied from the roots and left on for more than an hour three times, resulting in severe breakage starting from the roots." She concluded, "The designer insisted, 'That has never happened,' denying the facts, and I felt deep disappointment in the attitude of denying the stylist's fault and lacking any sincere apology."

DJ Soda said, "What I wanted was not cowardly excuses or irresponsible lies, but an attitude of acknowledging mistakes openly and sincerely apologizing," asserting, "The designer has not contacted me at all since the issue occurred until now, demanding only to delete the post that is unfavorable to them for 5 million won, and the salon director even suggested, 'Shall we change the atmosphere?' I cannot accept this situation in any way."

Earlier, DJ Soda explained, "As someone in a profession that stands before the public, I have been looking for all ways, but my hair continues to fall out, and it is in a state of breakage of about 3mm, making even medium-length hairstyles difficult. I have been told it will take over two years to grow out the broken hair, so I am barely hiding the ugly parts with what remains."

This is the full additional statement from DJ Soda.

As an artist who originally needed to continue performing and attending events, I am compelled to provide additional explanations today due to threats from the salon regarding the complaint I posted yesterday afternoon about my current hair condition and their intention to change the atmosphere.

Three weeks ago, after my hair was severely damaged at the roots due to the treatment, there was not a single direct contact from the hair designer. However, now, after seeing my Instagram post, I received a message directed at my manager saying, 'I will give you 5 million won if you write a settlement agreement and take down the post.'

I now firmly say that even if offered a fortune, it cannot change my appearance now and the pain caused by it.

I have given sufficient opportunities to resolve the issue. After obtaining consent from the salon director, when I mentioned that the care expenses would be 1 year 4.8 million won and 2 years 6.8 million won following a scalp and hair clinic diagnosis, she asked for a diagnosis to be obtained from a specialized hospital, and expressed a desire for me to go to another hospital that could be monitored by the salon. I worried about the salon's heavy expenses and requested, 'If I went to a specialized hospital, the expense would likely increase, so would that be okay? Then please send me the hospital list.' Since we had been familiar with each other, I also wanted to care for them and prevent costs from increasing too much.

However, they responded that the amount was more expensive than expected and, accompanied by an emotional reaction, continued to contact me with sudden meeting requests late at night. We judged that this approach was uncomfortable and told them, "It’s too late now, so I will contact you tomorrow," and did not proceed with the meeting.

After that, without any further contact, the director stated, 'I will wait,' and during the more than three weeks that followed, there was no follow-up contact, nor any measures taken, including the provision of the hospital list. The fact that you sat idle without any response and just waited for us to contact you amounts to wasting time without any action, doesn’t it? We clearly requested that the salon share a list of hospitals that could be monitored, but they just repeated, 'Let’s meet and talk first,' and we never received the hospital list.
Is it really true that they won’t provide the hospital list just because we didn’t have a face-to-face meeting?
Is that really an attitude geared toward solving the problem?

After posting the message yesterday, today the director again got angry with my manager and questioned whether, "Is this how we respond to someone waiting for an answer?", "Weren’t we in the middle of a settlement?", "Soda posted during that time.", "When did we not contact you?" They insisted that they wanted to meet to settle but claimed it was our side that didn’t reach out, asking whether, "Shall we change the atmosphere?" and shifted the blame to us as victims, escalating the situation to one of threats.

It is a fact that the designer has not contacted me with any apology for more than three weeks, so why is there anger as if it’s deliberate that we haven’t responded?

The very designer who didn’t contact me during those three weeks remains silent, while now the director distorts the narrative to make it seem like we are avoiding contact and expresses anger.

I would like to ask if this is the attitude of someone who is sincerely apologizing.
I will not accept any further requests for settlement and any inducements or monetary offers are meaningless.

As someone who has bleached my hair for years, I know better than anyone how important the process is.
During this treatment, the bleach was applied from the roots and left on for more than an hour three times, resulting in severe breakage starting from the roots.

The designer denied it by stating, 'That has never happened,' and expressed surprise at my claim, stating that, 'I have done many blonde treatments but this is the first time for me'. I felt deep disappointment in the attitude of denying the stylist's fault and lacking any sincere apology.

What I wanted were not cowardly excuses or irresponsible lies, but an attitude of acknowledging mistakes openly and sincerely apologizing.

This post is not just about sharing facts of victimization. It is a message from a victim who hopes their voice will not be ignored and that no other victim will emerge, carried out with a sense of responsibility.

The designer has had no contact since the issue occurred and is demanding only that I delete the post unfavorable to them for 5 million won, while the salon director has gone so far as to suggest, 'Shall we change the atmosphere?' I cannot accept this situation in any way.
