Channel A's ‘Overstepping Family’ MC Ahn Jung-hwan makes a surprising confession about his career, saying, “I almost went to ‘Seattle’ when my life as a professional soccer player was coming to an end.”
In the 88th episode of Channel A’s ‘Overstepping Family,’ which airs at 8:10 p.m. on the 19th (Thursday), Lee Hae-ri and Miguel, who are residing in Seattle, introduce unique attractions and activities in Seattle during the ‘Seattle Treasure Hunt Tour.’
On this day, the ‘American family’ Lee Hae-ri and Miguel note, “We are enjoying the best weather in Seattle these days,” and add, “This is also a time when many tourists visit Seattle, but it’s disappointing that they only go to the same places every time, so we want to introduce other attractions.” Ahn Jung-hwan, who was watching from the studio, reveals, “When my player career was almost over, I received an offer from the professional soccer team in Seattle and considered going to Seattle,” and admits, “After much thought, I decided to go to the Chinese league,” surprising everyone. In response, Lee Hae-won activates her ‘genuine reaction,’ saying, “It’s a shame I could have lived in Seattle,” bringing laughter.
A little later, the ‘American family’ heads first to a place where they can appreciate the stunning views of Seattle in a unique way, boarding a ‘seaplane’ surrounded by the sea and lakes toward Lake Union Park. After overlooking landmarks such as the ‘Space Needle’ and the cityscape from above, they then move to a seafood restaurant known as a ‘view hotspot’ located by the dock to taste various seafood and the famous fresh ‘oysters’ from Seattle. While watching the oyster eating broadcast of the ‘American family,’ Ahn Jung-hwan comments on the Seattle oyster price: “Six oysters for 34,000 won,” reminiscing about his time in Russia for the World Cup, where he was moved to encounter ‘Tongyeong oysters’ for dinner, saying, “Back then, the price of one oyster was about 10,000 won,” adding to the surprise.
After a satisfying meal, the ‘American family’ visits a site dubbed the ‘second dirtiest tourist attraction in the world,’ grimacing repeatedly. They seek out the so-called ‘gum wall’ to admire the ‘gum art’ stuck by people from around the world, raising curiosity about what the actual ‘gum wall’ looks like and what another ‘unique location’ is that has ranked as the ‘dirtiest tourist attraction in the world.’
The ‘American family's’ Seattle Treasure Hunt Tour, filled with unique fun, can be seen in the 88th episode of Channel A’s ‘Overstepping Family,’ airing at 8:10 p.m. on the 19th (Thursday).
