Wavve is launching a youthful romantic comedy drama tailored for the 'Gen Z' generation, titled 'Namju Search.'
The drama 'Namju Search,' which will be exclusively released on Wavve on the 27th, is a new concept mystery triangle romance about a female lead, O Seol-laem, who enters college to find her fiancé who disappeared from a gaming wedding while searching for a 'virtual male lead' and looking for 'real love.' Based on the original webtoon of the same name that gained explosive popularity in 2021, it features collaboration between writer Park Ga-hee, who participated in scripts such as 'Shut Up Flower Boy Band,' 'The Secret Door,' and 'When the Stars Gossip,' and director Kang Hee-joo, who directed seasons 1 and 2 of 'Red Moon, Blue Sun.' In addition, it has been co-produced by Urban Works, known for producing 'Thief: Sound of the Sword,' 'Black Dog,' and 'Bad Guys,' along with 815VIDEO, which created music videos for famous artists like BLACKPINK and IU, as well as the independent film 'Pieces of Memory,' raising expectations even before its release.
Above all, 'Namju Search' is a work that pays attention to the 'digital native' generation that has lived with digital technology since birth, and it is expected to form a new type of triangle relationship between the 'virtual boyfriend' met through 'online dating' and the 'real boyfriend' who starts a connection in the real world, generating interest. In this context, the protagonist, O Seol-laem, who enters college to find the boyfriend 'Fallen Excalibur' who vanished in a game, is played by Gal So-won, who received national love for her role as 'Yesung' in the movie 'The Gift of Room 7.' The role of Sun Woo-yeon, known as 'Namshin' at Gang Strong University, is taken by Lee Jin-woo, a member of the idol group GHOST9, who starred as Go Hyun-jung's son in ENA's 'Namib.' Additionally, DRIPPIN's Cha Jun-ho has been cast as the mysterious stoic man Cha Joo-han, hinting at the start of a gripping 'triangle romance.'
Wavve also captured attention by releasing the official main poster of 'Namju Search,' with the phrase 'Who is my Fallen Excalibur?' that piques curiosity, along with the first teaser video that offers a glimpse of the content. In the teaser video, O Seol-laem (Gal So-won) is seen entering college as a freshman and actively searching for the identity of 'Fallen Excalibur,' while Sun Woo-yeon (Lee Jin-woo) and Cha Joo-han (Cha Jun-ho) each display their 'extreme' charms, gradually becoming infatuated with O Seol-laem, significantly raising the excitement level.
'Namju Search,' a new concept mystery triangle comic romance that can be enjoyed for its thrilling tension and flirtatious sweetness, will be exclusively released as Wavve-only content, with two episodes each week for a total of three weeks starting from the 27th.
