As the provisional injunction filed by NewJeans was dismissed, completely halting the members' activities, ADOR once again reached out to them.
On the 18th, the agency ADOR stated through an official position, "Yesterday there was a decision in the appellate court clearly confirming that ADOR is the agency of NewJeans. We are deeply grateful for the court's judgment."
Earlier, the day before, the Seoul High Court's Civil Division 25-2 (Presiding Judges Hwang Byeong-ha, Jeong Jong-gwan, and Lee Gyun-yong) dismissed the provisional injunction filed by the members of NewJeans.
The Seoul Central District Court, in March, granted ADOR's request for a provisional injunction seeking the maintenance of the agency's status and the prohibition of advertising contracts against the five members of NewJeans. As a result, NewJeans can no longer engage in independent activities without prior approval or consent from ADOR.
NewJeans opposed the provisional injunction request and filed an objection, but the court rejected it, and although the members immediately appealed, the appellate court also sided with ADOR, leaving NewJeans unable to act independently without ADOR.
In response, ADOR stated, "We hope this decision serves as an opportunity for the members to return to their place as 'NewJeans' and resume activities," adding that "as NewJeans approaches its 3rd anniversary next month, the company plans to do its utmost to support their greater leap and growth."
