Ju Haknyeon of The Boyz left the team due to personal issues just two days after announcing a temporary halt in activities.
Earlier, One Hundred, the agency of The Boyz, announced through official social media on the 16th that Ju Haknyeon would temporarily suspend his activities.
The agency stated, "We inform you that The Boyz member Ju Haknyeon will temporarily suspend his activities due to personal circumstances," adding, "We apologize for causing concern to the fans, known as The B, with this sudden news."
The sudden pause in Ju Haknyeon's activities led to speculation and curiosity among fans about the reasons behind it.
However, two days later, on the 18th, it was revealed that Ju Haknyeon had a private meeting with a Japanese adult video actor, causing a stir. According to reports, on the night of the 29th of last month, Ju Haknyeon visited a bar in Roppongi with acquaintances from Japan.
He was reportedly spotted at a drinking party where he stayed until the early hours of the next day with former adult video actress Asuka Kirara, engaging in actions such as hugging and having Asuka Kirara resting her chin on Ju Haknyeon's shoulder.
This intensified the controversy, and ultimately, the agency announced Ju Haknyeon's departure from The Boyz and the termination of his contract swiftly. On the 18th, One Hundred stated, "We took immediate action to suspend activities as soon as we received information that Ju Haknyeon was involved in personal issues, and we took time to closely verify the facts."
The agency explained, "As a result, we took the seriousness of the matter seriously and clearly recognized that it was difficult to maintain trust as an artist," adding, "Therefore, after sufficient discussions with the members of The Boyz, we have finalized Ju Haknyeon's departure from the team and the termination of his exclusive contract."
It added, "We ask for your understanding that this decision is an unavoidable measure for the protection of the members of The Boyz and the team. Ju Haknyeon will, as of today, end all activities as a member of The Boyz."
Finally, it conveyed, "One Hundred will spare no support and effort to ensure that the remaining members of The Boyz can carry on their activities in a stable and healthy manner. We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern to fans, and we will do our utmost to repay with better news of activities in the future."
As a result, Ju Haknyeon, who gained recognition through Mnet's 'Produce 101 Season 2' in 2017, has left the team dishonorably after eight years since his debut.
