In 'Radio Star', singer Lee Jeong expressed heartfelt gratitude to his family for supporting him through business failures and health deterioration.
On the 18th, the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' featured guests Kim Tae-kyun, Cheon Rok-dam (Lee Jeong), Lee Dae-hyung, and Forestella's Go Woo-rim.
Cheon Rok-dam confidently introduced himself, revealing that he ranked 3rd in 'Mr. Trot 3.' He explained the reason for transforming from Lee Jeong to Cheon Rok-dam by saying, "Initially, when I decided to participate in 'Mr. Trot 3', I wanted to go out with a new name rather than as Lee Jeong. I hoped my music would resonate from Cheonji to Baengnokdam, just like my name suggests. I came up with that name myself."
He continued, "Currently, my activity ratio is 100% as Cheon Rok-dam. I will no longer perform Lee Jeong's hit song 'Again.' Many of my fans are older, so they tend to know me as 'Cheong Rok-dam,' or even 'Cheong Nok-dam,' 'Cheong Rok-dang,' or 'Cheong Rok-tang.' For text voting, the name has to be written correctly, but it ended up invalid due to errors. I was really disappointed."
He especially expressed bitterness, saying, "Four years ago, I announced my marriage on 'Radio Star' and had many events while living in Jeju. In fact, Lee Jeong filed for marriage in 2021 and started a family with his wife. However, just a year after the marriage, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and faced unfortunate business failures."
In this regard, Lee Jeong candidly admitted, "The business just failed. I wasn't feeling well either." Kim Gu-ra chimed in, asking, "Didn’t you have a tennis court?" and "I have visited your hamburger restaurant."
Lee Jeong then shared updates about his life with his wife since 'Mr. Trot 3', saying, "We are mostly living as a couple who see each other at the end of the month. After about 3 or 4 months of this, it became unsustainable. My wife also works in Jeju, and she has decided to quit and come up to Seoul."
Kim Gu-ra expressed concern, saying, "Your wife has a very stable job, and (her family) is prominent in Jeju. Your mother-in-law must be very disappointed." Lee Jeong replied, "Not at all. My mother-in-law was happy and shed tears. When I heard that she cried tears of joy, I was touched."
