"The universal reader perspective" Lee Min-ho revealed the reason for choosing the work.
On the morning of the 17th, a production briefing for the film "The universal reader perspective" was held at the Lotte Cinema in Kondae, Seoul. Attendees included lead actors Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, Nana, and director Kim Byung-woo.
"The universal reader perspective" (directed by Kim Byung-woo, provided by Lotte Entertainment and Smilegate, distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by Realize Pictures Co., Ltd., co-produced by MYM Entertainment, Smilegate Realize, and The Present Company) is a fantasy action film about the world of a novel that comes to reality on the day the novel, serialized for over 10 years, is completed. The story follows Kim Reader (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), the only reader, as he teams up with the protagonist Yoon Joong-hyuk (played by Lee Min-ho) and his companions to survive in a world that has been destroyed. The film has a production budget of approximately 30 billion won and is based on a popular web novel of the same name, which has now been adapted into a webtoon and a film. Directed by Kim Byung-woo, who helmed films such as "The Terror Live" (2013) and "PMC: The Bunker" (2018), this marks his return after seven years.
Lee Min-ho passionately plays the protagonist Yoon Joong-hyuk of the novel serialized for over 10 years. Yoon Joong-hyuk, the protagonist of the novel "Three Ways to Survive in a Destroyed World," is a character with overwhelming ability and strength, capable of clearing all scenarios using a return skill that allows him to start over from the beginning upon death. This marks his return to the screen for the first time in a decade since "Gangnam 1970."
Lee Min-ho said, "Having lived the life of an actor for a long time, as I get older, I become more interested in various social themes and minor subjects. I thought we were heading into a more individualized and isolated era, and then I came across the script for 'The universal reader perspective.'"
He continued, "In a world on the brink of destruction, I thought it might be necessary for people to gain strength and comfort through each other. I hoped it could resonate with the audience," explaining the reason for choosing the work.
Meanwhile, "The universal reader perspective" is set to be released on July 23.
