Previously, Iljuwriter posted a second apology to the bereaved family regarding the workplace bullying death of late MBC weathercaster Oh Yoanna, following a controversy over her remarks defending the alleged perpetrator Kim Gayoung.
On the 15th, Iljuwriter stated through her YouTube community, "In January, I wrote inappropriate comments related to the MBC workplace bullying incident," adding, "I realized how much pain my remarks, which were made based on partial information and speculation, caused to the deceased and her family."
She said, "I knew better than anyone that such thoughtless words could hurt someone, yet I am ashamed of my decision to leave a comment without sufficient consideration," repeatedly expressing her apologies.
She continued, "Since I shoot and edit my channel alone, I have tried to show myself as naturally as possible on screen," but added, "However, ever since the mistake, I felt too ashamed of my on-screen appearance. The real me is not a good person, and looking at myself pretending to be nice filled me with self-loathing."
Iljuwriter vowed, "I sincerely apologize to all viewers who were disappointed by my thoughtless words and actions. I will act more maturely and carefully in the future," and added, "I am grateful to the viewers who gave me the opportunity to reflect on and acknowledge my mistakes. I am sorry and thankful again."
Earlier, Iljuwriter was criticized for leaving comments in support of Kim Gayoung, identified as the perpetrator of workplace bullying against late Oh Yoanna. She had a connection with Kim Gayoung as they appeared together on SBS "Goal Digger." In this context, Iljuwriter commented, "I don’t think the late Oh Yoanna would ever want to see comments like this. My involvement might be overstepping, but I am worried about Gayoung unni, and even though our connection was short, I leave this comment praying for Oh Yoanna's peace."
However, the bereaved family pointed out Kim Gayoung as the perpetrator through the YouTube channel "Garosero Research Institute," saying, "The real devils are this person and Kim Gayoung," revealing that Kim Gayoung did not attend the deceased’s funeral and also participated in a group chat where workplace bullying took place, which caused a backlash.
In response, Iljuwriter acknowledged that her statements had caused great hurt to the deceased and the bereaved family, repeatedly apologizing and stating, "I am truly regretful and reflective. I sincerely apologize for my negligence and shortcomings."
She added, "I am cautious that even this writing might cause another wound to the bereaved family," and said, "I deeply apologize to everyone who has been hurt by my thoughtless actions. I will be more careful with my words and actions in the future."
Meanwhile, late Oh Yoanna passed away at the age of 28 last September. The bereaved family revealed through a 17-page letter found on the deceased's mobile phone that she had endured continuous workplace bullying, identifying two specific weathercasters as perpetrators, causing social shock.
The perpetrators are reported to have spread misinformation and blamed Oh Yoanna when she requested corrections of incorrect weather information, stating that "a junior should not dare point out a senior." Additionally, circumstances have emerged where they called her to the office after work hours under the pretext of needing to teach her, preventing her from leaving for more than 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, and numerous messages and voice recordings criticizing Oh Yoanna for an extended period have been discovered.
