Actor Namgoong-min expressed a cautious stance regarding fans' expectations for 'Stove League' season 2.

In a recently released commentary video on the SBS YouTube channel, Namgoong-min reviewed the drama 'Stove League' and 'One Thousand Won Lawyer,' where he played the lead role, reconnecting with fans. At the end of the video, when asked by the production team to say a word to fans waiting for 'Stove League' season 2, he jokingly replied, 'Give up,' drawing laughter.

However, he quickly added, 'Well, I guess it might be possible someday if we do well,' leaving a hint that he is looking forward to the day when Director General Baek Seung-soo returns, not completely closing off the possibility.

The SBS drama 'Stove League,' which ended in February 2020, depicted the story of a new director general reforming a chronically underperforming professional baseball team, recording a peak viewership of 19.1% and receiving ardent love from viewers. Namgoong-min, who played the role of Director General Baek Seung-soo, created many people's iconic character with his cool charisma and heavy acting, and voices wanting a season 2 have continued steadily after its conclusion.

However, writer Lee Shin-hwa confessed at a press conference after the finale, 'I have a few ideas, but I'm not confident about filling 16 episodes,' stating that he didn't want to hear the evaluation, 'I wish I hadn't come back.' He has maintained a cautious stance, saying, 'The moment I have overflowing ideas, I want to challenge again.'

Meanwhile, Namgoong-min is meeting viewers as a film director dreaming of a comeback in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Our Movie.'
