“The power of ARMY (fandom name) is tremendous and moves me.”
Neither the midsummer heat nor the sudden drizzle could stop J-Hope and ARMY (fandom name) from their passionate fervor.
BTS's J-Hope concluded a grand narrative of his solo world tour with the 'j-hope Tour 'HOPE ON THE STAGE' FINAL' (hereinafter 'HOPE ON THE STAGE') held on the 13th and 14th at the Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang. J-Hope connected with over 54,000 audience members over two days through a performance that lasted about three hours, accompanied by an all-live band arrangement.
The concert started on June 13, the debut date of BTS, adding significance to the event. J-Hope said, “It is truly an honor to hold the final performance on such a meaningful day, June 13. Since this is the last of the world tour, let’s party like crazy. I prepared this performance with high ambitions, and there’s so much more to show you in the future. You will want to continue to join me going forward,” raising the atmosphere.
The stage, featuring tracks from his first solo album 'Jack In The Box' and special album 'HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1,' showcased J-Hope's musical growth and transformation. The stage for the digital single 'Killin’ It Girl (feat. GloRilla)' released on the 13th also premiered, eliciting great applause. The powerful hip-hop sound highlighted J-Hope's bold and sexy dance moves, which had never been seen before, complemented by pair choreography with dancers. He expressed, “This song doesn’t need a grand explanation. I think it’s a song and performance where you can see my sexiness,” to which the audience responded with explosive reactions.
This concert featured legendary guests. On the first day, BTS's Jin and Jungkook made surprise appearances, thrilling fans. Jin performed his solo song ‘Don’t Say You Love Me,’ and J-Hope teamed up with Jungkook for ‘Seven (feat. Latto).’ The two sang ‘Spring Day’ (Jin) and ‘i wonder... (with Jung Kook of BTS)’ (Jungkook) passionately with J-Hope. In particular, the performance of ‘Jamais Vu’ by the three members was revealed for the first time since the 2020 online concert ‘Bang Bang Con The Live,’ moving the audience deeply. Furthermore, RM, Suga, Jimin, and V attended the concert, showing heartfelt support to J-Hope as the entire BTS gathered in one place.
On the second day, Crush joined as a guest. He sang their collaboration track ‘Rush Hour (Feat. j-hope of BTS)’ released in 2022. He also collaborated on the stage with J-Hope's ‘Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel) (FNZ Remix),’ showcasing fantastic chemistry.
Additionally, in ‘Trivia 起: Just Dance,’ large water cannons cooled the heat of the site, and dazzling fireworks decorated the finale of the performance. The use of a lift bridge, an open stage, and enhanced special effects maximized the audience's immersion, perfectly demonstrating the true worth of J-Hope as a 'world-class performer.'
Fans reciprocated with enthusiastic cheers and applause at every performance. During the encore, they turned on their phone flashes and cheered, chanting their support. Notably, a massive wave created with ARMY bombs painted a stunning scene.
J-Hope remarked, “I performed every stage as if it were the last, but now this is truly the last. If there is an end, there is also another beginning. I will dance, rap, and sing on stage until this body wears out because I love the stage so much. In many ways, there’s a connection between you and me. The strength of ARMY is immense and moves me. I received wonderful energy over these four months, which might be short for some and long for others,” as he shared his heartfelt sentiments with tears.
Meanwhile, 'HOPE ON THE STAGE,' which started at the KSPO DOME in Seoul in February, concluded its grand journey with the Goyang performance. J-Hope held a total of 33 performances across 16 cities worldwide during this world tour, attracting a cumulative audience of 529,000.
