'We must run to live' Lee Bong-ju revealed that he has suffered from muscle tension dysregulation for the past four years.
The scene aired on the 14th during a special program commemorating MBN's 30th anniversary, titled 'We must run to live', featuring the 'Run Crew' after completing their first trail running competition as they embarked on a '5 km recovery run' at the Donggang River in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province.
They decided to do a recovery run of 5 km after finishing the trail run. Shawn noted that a special guest was coming, and then Lee Bong-ju appeared, surprising everyone. Lee Bong-ju is still the holder of the best record in the full marathon in Korea.
Lee Bong-ju, who has suffered from muscle tension dysregulation, said, 'I feel like I've spent four years in hell. There was nothing I could do on my own. It was hard even to walk 100 meters, always relying on my wife.' He added that his body gradually bent due to the repetitive contraction of the rectus abdominis.
Lee Bong-ju added, 'I couldn't sleep straight on my back. It was hard enough to rely on medication to get by. My wish was to run on my own, even for 30 minutes.' He caught people's attention by stating, 'Now I feel 70% to 80% better.' Lee Bong-ju explained his routine by saying, 'I run 7 to 8 km every morning. Sometimes I run up to 10 km.'
