‘Marathon legend’ Lee Bong-ju appears as a guest on MBN's ‘Running to Live’ and receives a warm welcome from the ‘Running Crew’.

In the 9th episode of MBN's special 30th anniversary entertainment program ‘Running to Live,’ which will air tonight at 8:20 p.m., the ‘Running Crew,’ who just completed the first ‘trail running’ competition, will be revealed as they embark on a ‘5km recovery run’ at the Donggang River in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province.

On this day, Deputy Director Lee Young-pyo surprises the ‘Running Crew’ by saying, “We will have a ‘5km recovery run’ while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Donggang.” Following this, Sean notes, “To ensure we enjoy today’s ‘recovery run’ properly, we have invited a special guest,” introducing ‘former national marathoner’ Lee Bong-ju.

Amid everyone’s applause, Lee Bong-ju opens up about his experience, responding to the question about his struggle with muscle tension syndrome, “I went through four years of hell.” He expresses, “I always relied on my wife and could barely walk 100 meters by myself. At that time, my wish was to be able to run even for 30 minutes.”

He states, “I couldn’t even sleep properly lying down,” but fortunately adds, “Through consistent rehabilitation, I have recovered about 70-80% now.” Yang Joon-hyuk expresses his admiration, saying, “I heard it was a terminal illness, but overcoming that and running again is remarkable. Truly a triumph of the human spirit!”

In a warm atmosphere, Lee Bong-ju reveals, “On September 6th, the ‘Donggang Marathon’ will be held in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, and today we want to experience that course in advance.” However, sudden heavy rain pours down, and Slippy and the ‘Running Crew’ worry, saying, “It seems to rain every time we shoot.” Attention is drawn to whether the ‘legend’ Lee Bong-ju and the ‘Running Crew’ can enjoy a meaningful time experiencing the beautiful Donggang course on this special day.

The first challenges of the ‘Running Crew’ in the ‘trail running’ competition, the announcement of the ‘tagging’ mission results, and the ‘recovery run’ scene in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, featuring ‘marathon legend’ Lee Bong-ju, can be confirmed in the 9th episode of MBN's ‘Running to Live’ airing tonight at 8:20 p.m.
