Mnet's 'BOYS 2 PLANET' 160 boys finally meet with fans and release their hidden charms.
The global project for a top K-POP boy group, Mnet's 'BOYS 2 PLANET' (BOYS II PLANET / directed by Kim Shin-young, Jung Woo-young, Ko Jung-kyung), will host its first offline event 'PLANET DAY : OPEN STAGE' (PLANET DAY: OPEN STAGE) today (14th) at 3 p.m. in Sangam DMC Park. Following the reveal of the signal song stage, this will be the first opportunity for 160 trainees to meet with star creators.
The 'PLANET DAY', known for its symbolic festival atmosphere unique to Mnet's audition program, is expected to be a place where the boys will unleash their hidden charms that were not fully shown on stage. In fact, the area where PLANET DAY is taking place has seen fierce competition for closer viewing spots, and it is said that fans from both Korea and abroad have gathered since the day before, adding to the excitement.
Meanwhile, the stage video for the signal song 'HOLA SOLAR' surpassed 3.5 million views less than a day after its release, and the stages for both K and C planets ranked high on YouTube's 'Trending Videos', highlighting the status of this K-POP world-scale project. Furthermore, keywords related to 'BOYS 2 PLANET', the signal song, and participants have ranked in real-time search on not only X (formerly Twitter) but also Weibo, one of the major social platforms in China, shaking the global K-POP fandom.
Starting from 6 p.m. yesterday (13th), individual stage evaluation videos for the signal song have been released through YouTube and Mnet Plus. Until 10 a.m. on the 15th (Sunday), evaluations will continue based on clip views and likes, raising attention on what outcomes the selections of star creators will lead to.
Meanwhile, 'BOYS 2 PLANET' is set to launch its first broadcasts of 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' and 'BOYS 2 PLANET C' on July 17th (Thursday) and 18th (Friday) at 9:20 p.m.
