Actor Kim Kang-woo mentioned the nickname "Kim Kwan-sik of Bangbae-dong."
On the afternoon of the 13th, charismatic actor Kim Kang-woo, who is also Han Hye-jin's brother-in-law and has even earned the nickname "national brother-in-law," appeared as a "eating friend" on MBN's "Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2."
On that day, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube, who left for Daegu, went to the "Daegu K Headquarters," a place filled with Jun Hyun-moo's memories from 20 years ago. Upon seeing the unchanged K Headquarters, Jun Hyun-moo was filled with nostalgia, saying, "How can it be exactly the same? I haven't been here in 20 years."
Before arriving, Jun Hyun-moo called announcer Park Eun-jung, with whom he had broadcasted during his rookie years, and said, "You are the most memorable sunbae (senior). I'm heading to the company." In response, Park Eun-jung remarked, "Why are you going to the company? Someone who has left," while also complimenting, "Hyun-moo, you look younger than back then."
Reuniting with Park Eun-jung at the Daegu K Headquarters, Jun Hyun-moo greeted her, asking, "Why do you look exactly the same?" Kwak Tube then asked Park Eun-jung if it was difficult to control Jun Hyun-moo during his rookie years, to which she replied, "At that time, it wasn't just difficult; it was impossible," revealing Jun Hyun-moo's dark past.
Park Eun-jung recommended a local delicacy of Daegu, raw fish salad, and the two headed off to taste it with Kim Kang-woo, who appeared as an eating friend that day. Kim Kang-woo shared that he recently started YouTube, saying, "I'm quite shy and don’t talk much, so I avoided variety shows, but I've been misunderstood a lot. People say I'm too cold, sensitive, or difficult."
He continued, "Since YouTube allows me to show my real self without pressure, I thought about trying it, and I gathered the courage to start. I think the response will be decent; it's getting around 200,000 views."
Kwak Tube, a senior in YouTube, advised, "These days, many people like vlogs. The production crew should be minimal, and the director shouldn't interfere. Naturalness is the best for YouTube," to which Jun Hyun-moo added, "You should charge a consultation fee for this advice."
Kim Kang-woo, who claims to maintain the weight he had in high school, joked, "It's not that I'm trying to maintain it; it's just that since my height hasn’t changed, my weight hasn’t either," earning jeers from Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube. Jun Hyun-moo exclaimed, "That's a ridiculous statement. Why would you say that?"
Kwak Tube asked, "Aren't you hungry at night?" and Kim Kang-woo replied, "I am. Eating is a habit. You should try to hold back. If I'm hungry at 11, I eat a banana." He then advised, "The key is to eat five small meals instead of three big ones," and proposed to Kwak Tube, "Let's collaborate on YouTube together," evoking laughter.
Next, the three moved to have lunch. Kim Kang-woo, nicknamed "Kim Kwan-sik of Bangbae-dong," revealed that he has two sons, one in the second year of middle school and another in the sixth grade of elementary school.
In response to Jun Hyun-moo's comment that the expenses for food must be significant, Kim Kang-woo replied, "It costs a lot. I order meat almost in bulk." He, who also cooks for his children, said, "I cook a lot of Chinese food too. I learned a few things while broadcasting with Chef Yeon-bok, so I can make dishes like black bean noodles or mapo tofu. We’ve got two sons, so during the holidays, they eat five meals a day. Just that alone is a lot."
Kim Kang-woo, who married Han Hye-jin's sister in 2010, candidly responded to a question about whether there was any period of boredom in their marriage, saying, "You need to have the luxury to get bored. I had a child just two months after getting married, and right after that, we had another son who's two years younger, and we were entirely focused on raising them."
When asked if they ever fought, he said, "No, we didn't. That's what I'm thankful for. When I'm working, she has fully supported me during those times. While it may be something expected from an actor's perspective, it's an immense consideration."
