Singer Lee Hyori has made a significant donation for abandoned animals.

Recently, the pet food brand and Blue Angel Volunteer Group, which are engaged in protecting abandoned animals, announced on their official account the news of the donation of pet food by the couple Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon.

The Natural Balance side said, "Currently, we heard that the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Shelter, where about 390 abandoned animals live, ran out of food, and the couple, who consistently volunteer for abandoned animals, purchased Natural Balance food directly and donated it. Our company also decided to join in the warm-hearted donation," adding, "Natural Balance will soon conduct additional food donations for difficult animal shelters together with Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon."

On that day, Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon donated 2 tons of pet food to the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Shelter. In addition, it has been reported that they donated a total of 18.5 tons of food to 17 shelters, including Korean Dogs, KK9, Haenggang, the Beagle Association, the Yongbo Association, Dorothy's Dog Save Us, Love You Butterfly, and the Friends of Lucy's shelter for animals affected by wildfires in Andong.

According to Natural Balance, Lee Hyori contacted the company directly last month to express her desire to purchase food to donate to shelters caring for rescued animals. This food donation is said to have been arranged following the couple's appearance in a Market Kurly commercial.

In particular, Lee Hyori has been connected with the Pyeonggang Princess Shelter since 2010. She adopted Soonshim in 2010 and Mocha in 2011 from this shelter. In addition, Lee Hyori has sent Mocha's puppies to her acquaintances for adoption. The family members Soonshim and Mocha, who became part of Lee Hyori's family, received love from many people for 10 years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge in 2020 and 2023, respectively.

Since then, Lee Hyori, who has been interested in adopting abandoned dogs and animal protection, has consistently engaged in philanthropic activities and is actively leading efforts to protect abandoned animals by volunteering directly at animal shelters.

Meanwhile, Lee Hyori captured attention by revealing that she earned 4.2 billion won just five months after announcing her return to commercial advertising after an 11-year hiatus on the recently aired KBS Joy program '20th Century Hit Song.' She announced a sudden suspension of commercial advertising in 2012, and in July 2023, she declared her return to commercial advertising, participating in ads for various product categories, including distribution, food, and electronics. Amid this, many have praised her for using her revenue for charitable activities and spreading a positive influence.
