In the 3rd episode of SBS 'Wow! Really? Is There Such a Thing in the World?' aired on 12th, the identities of 'the big shot of cheer songs' and 'the enthusiastic fan collecting LG Twins uniforms' were unveiled for the special edition of 'Sports Records'. The first story of season 2 in the 'Friends Meeting' corner, which received much love during season 1, titled 'Exciting Friends Meeting', and the final story of the previously released episode 'I Am a Multiple Personality' were revealed, providing an unprecedented level of immersion. The broadcast recorded a 3.0% rating according to Nielsen Korea, continuing its popularity. Notably, the scene where Oh Sung-jin weeps with painful memories recorded a peak rating of 4.3% per minute, certifying high viewer interest.
The four MCs - Jun Hyun-moo, Baek Ji-young, Kim Ho-young, and Subin - invited 'baseball legends' Kim Tae-kyun and Yoo Hee-gwan as guests for the 'Sports Records' special, exchanging greetings in the studio. As the first VCR was revealed, singer Hong Kyung-min made a surprise appearance.
Recently, he had gained immense popularity among LG Twins fans with the 'Hong Chang-ki Cheer Song'. Regarding this, he mentioned, "I think it is the best output since 'Shaken Friendship'" and added, "The song is included in karaoke. I’m not exactly sure about the copyright fees, but I think I receive about 1 won every time it is sung once." He introduced that he created the cheer song at the team's suggestion during Hong Chang-ki's rookie days, saying, "Today's main character is not me, but 'the big shot of cheer songs,' who sings cheer songs not only for baseball but for various sports."
Immediately afterward, 'the unknown contender' Hwang Seok-bin, who sang an impressive 500 cheer songs, appeared. He stated, "I have sung about 500 cheer songs for various sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball," before launching into a cheer song he had performed. Claiming that 'his main job is a rocker', he expressed, "Performing in front of people is my wish," prompting the production team to arrange a stage for him through the NC Dinos team. Hwang Seok-bin finally showcased his talent live in front of numerous spectators, who were delighted by his friendly voice and responded with enthusiastic applause. After the stage, he shared his overwhelming feelings, saying, "I felt a thrill as fans sang the cheer song while receiving my energy."
Next, 'the man who loves LG Twins' appeared. Meeting at the baseball field, he garnered attention with his unique support by wearing the uniforms of all the starting players and showcasing each player's uniform as they took the mound. A few days later, he revealed his treasure trove, which was packed with LG Twins uniforms.
He explained, "I started collecting LG Twins uniforms, mainly since I bought Lee Sang-hoon's autograph jersey for the first time in 2005, and I’ve collected them for 20 years." Shortly after, the production team counted the items, including jerseys, pants, jackets, T-shirts, baseballs, and caps, totaling 872 items. In response, Yoo Hee-gwan wondered, "It seems you’ve spent over a billion won on this," and the baseball fan revealed, "If I were to compare it to cars, it would be about the price of a G sedan." At that moment, Jun Hyun-moo unexpectedly asked Kim Tae-kyun and Yoo Hee-gwan, "I heard that players receive incentives for their uniforms being sold. How much did you receive?" Kim Tae-kyun replied, "When it peaked, the annual incentive was about the price of the best sedan in Korea." Yoo Hee-gwan then replied, "Really that much? I had no idea," eliciting a bittersweet laugh.
Following the baseball stories, the beloved 'Friends Meeting' corner from season 1 unfolded. The theme of the day was 'Exciting Friends Meeting', featuring senior athletes from the 70s and 80s. First, 78-year-old Kim Soon-hee showcased her strong muscles, proudly stating, "I won 1st place in the senior bodybuilding competition in 2023." 75-year-old Hong Kwang-sik performed push-ups with three fingers on his left hand, confidently stating, "I won the competition by doing 1,333 push-ups in 2 hours." 73-year-old Park Gi-jo also showcased a 'void pose', eliciting Jun Hyun-moo's genuine admiration with his comment, "That could qualify for Dongchun Circus!" The oldest participant, 80-year-old Jin Young-ja, demonstrated stable handstands, showcasing impressive stamina.
In particular, Hong Kwang-sik noted, "I was electrocuted in a factory in 2008. So I can only use three fingers on my left hand, and my right hand and legs are bent. I didn’t want to be called disabled, so I started doing exercises with my left arm and have come this far," moving everyone emotionally.
Finally, the story of Oh Sung-jin from 'I Am a Multiple Personality' unfolded. Suffering from dissociative identity disorder, he addressed the trauma from childhood sexual assault that led to the development of a '30-something woman' identity. He shared, "When I was living in a rental house as a child, the landlord's son sexually assaulted me. So, I thought I was a woman until puberty. I was also sexually assaulted by a classmate in elementary school, and as my feelings of emptiness about life grew, I think the female identity emerged."
He then tearfully expressed, "I wanted to live an ordinary life without causing harm to others."
After consulting with the medical staff, he asked, "Would revisiting the old house without avoidance help in overcoming the (trauma)?" The attending physician replied, "It could be helpful," leading him to visit his old neighborhood. Surprised by the neighborhood's transformation, completely different from his memories, Oh Sung-jin wept, saying, "It felt completely different from the image in my mind. It didn’t feel real. It felt like I was the only one bound to the past." Jun Hyun-moo, witnessing this, remarked, "You faced your trauma courageously," feeling heartbroken, while Kim Tae-kyun also warmly encouraged him, saying, "I admire how you responsively manage work and family. I hope you receive proper treatment and enjoy the happiness you desire."
