After returning to fans following his military service, BTS member Jungkook has once again been victimized by a sasaeng fan's indiscriminate behavior. Fans are expressing concern for his safety, calling for "protection for Jungkook."
According to the police on the 12th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul arrested a Chinese woman in her 30s, referred to as Ms. A, on suspicion of attempted trespassing at Jungkook's residence in Yongsan at around 11:20 p.m. the previous day. Ms. A was caught as she repeatedly pressed the entrance password and is reported to have stated during the investigation, "I came to Korea to see Jungkook, who has returned from military service."
Jungkook had previously mentioned during a live broadcast with fans, "Don’t you all know my home address? You can find it if you look it up on YouTube." This indicates that his home information has already been shared among certain sasaeng fans.
His warnings have gone unheeded. In May of last year, prior to his enlistment, Jungkook suffered from incessant phone calls while staying at a hotel during a tour in Las Vegas. He expressed his fear, saying, "I don’t like the sound of this phone ringing. It’s scary and uncomfortable." He even experienced food deliveries to his home without his request. At that time, he had warned, "Even if you send it, I won’t eat it. I will check the receipt and take action."
Despite this, invasions of privacy continue. Jungkook remarked, "I now consider this my fate and will keep moving forward," but the attempts at intrusion immediately upon his return must have been shocking for both him and the fans.
Fans are also expressing both anger and concern. On social media and fan communities, reactions include, "It’s so unfortunate that this happened on the very first day after his return from military service," "Sasaengs are not fans. Please protect Jungkook's safety," and "If this continues, the members might be reluctant to show themselves again."
Meanwhile, Jungkook was discharged from active duty in the Army on the 11th. Having faced ongoing issues with sasaeng fans even before his enlistment, he is now encountering similar threats upon his return, raising deep concern among fans. For Jungkook and the other members to resume their activities freely, a "sasaeng fan alert" is now more urgent than ever.
