Former Big Bang member Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P) announced his return as a solo artist.
Choi Seung-hyun recently conducted an interview with the global interview platform 'Awards Buzz'. This was before the release of Netflix's original series Squid Game Season 3, where he appeared in Season 2.
In the interview, when asked, "If Thanos (the character he plays) were to actually conquer the world, how do you think he would treat people?" he humorously imagined, “First, I would take the piggy bank. And as Thanos initially said, I would kill half of humanity with my rap.”
He then drew attention by directly mentioning his solo return with the phrase, “Because, because my solo album dropping soon.”
Previously, Choi Seung-hyun had been under probation for 10 months in prison after being convicted of marijuana use in 2016 and had been in seclusion. He resumed his acting activities last December, taking on the role of the washed-up rapper Thanos in 'Squid Game Season 2'.
However, after its release, the series faced ongoing controversies about 'likes and dislikes', and Choi Seung-hyun was excluded from all promotional activities, including the production presentation for 'Squid Game Season 2' and global showcases.
Nevertheless, Choi Seung-hyun later conducted interviews to clarify several controversies. Recently, before the release of 'Squid Game Season 3', he appeared at the Netflix global fan event 'TUDUM 2025' held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, actively participating in promotional activities.
With his return to acting and his announcement of activities as a solo artist, attention is focused on the paths he will take in the future.
