In a taxi ticket dispute, Jeong-sook (alias, a person surnamed Choi), who gained attention as a participant in the ENA·SBS Plus entertainment program ‘I’m Solo’ Season 10, appeared in court facing charges including assault. The prosecution sought six months imprisonment during the trial held on 12th.
According to Newsis on 12th, Judge Park Kyung-mo of Daegu District Court’s Criminal Division 2 presided over the trial of a person surnamed Choi, who has been indicted on charges of property damage, assault, and insult related to a taxi ticket issue. Choi is accused of striking another man six times in the face and damaging his mobile phone after the man requested to yield, saying, “I caught the taxi first,” on October 3rd of last year. Additionally, Choi was indicted for insult after the victim was called “a punk” in front of passersby.
During the police investigation, the victim expressed discomfort about Choi’s appearance on ‘I’m Solo,’ stating, “I would prefer a formal apology or that she does not appear on the show.” In response, Choi countered, “I suffered a loss of 80 million won as the advertisements were canceled.”
In court, she acknowledged the crime but claimed it was unfair, saying, “The victim made sexual remarks first.” She explained that the lack of agreement was due to one of the conditions being the cessation of his appearance on the broadcast.
Based on these circumstances, the prosecution sought a six-month sentence. In her closing statement, Choi stated, “I’m sorry,” adding, “While there were sexual remarks made by the victim, I feel it was too harsh and I’m unfairly treated.” The verdict is scheduled to be announced on the afternoon of the 24th.
Meanwhile, Choi is also embroiled in allegations of fraud. A police investigation is underway regarding a luxury necklace sold at a birthday and charity event held in February this year, which was claimed to be a counterfeit. Choi insisted, “All sponsorship contributions were completed within this month,” asserting innocence, but the investigation team confirmed that the police investigation is still ongoing.
