Highlight member and actor Lee Gi-kwang will make his screen debut with 'I Kill You.'
The hardboiled action drama 'I Kill You' (working title), starring Lee Gi-kwang, has been officially invited to the Adrenaline Ride section of the 29th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), which opens on July 3, for its world premiere.
'I Kill You' is directed by Yoo Ha, a leading figure in the domestic action genre, known for works such as 'On a Windy Day, You Should Go to Apgujeong-dong,' 'Marriage is a Crazy Act,' 'The Cruel History of Maljukgeori,' 'Mean Streets,' 'The Scent of History,' 'Howling,' and 'Pipeline,' and is highly anticipated as a hardboiled action piece featuring Lee Gi-kwang and Kang Ji-young in the lead roles. Ahead of its release this summer, it will first unveil its film version after being selected as an official invitation work at BIFAN.
In the drama, Lee Gi-kwang plays a wealthy character named Ho-jung, who appears like an exemplary student but has a raging inner self. Ho-jung, who is the half-brother of Ji-yeon (played by Kang Ji-young), is an ambitious individual harboring feelings of inferiority while seeking the chance to become the heir of his family. Lee Gi-kwang’s intense transformation into this twist character is expected to provide a thrilling catharsis.
Lee Gi-kwang is also expected to attend the BIFAN red carpet event, shining a light on his presence. As he makes his screen debut through 'I Kill You,' interest rises in how he will explode the audience's and viewers' adrenaline with unique action and charm.
Meanwhile, Lee Gi-kwang is expanding his presence by participating in various works as a main dancer and actor in Highlight. He showcased his talent last year as Baek Eun-ho in the tvN drama 'Marry My Husband,' and this year he returns with 'I Kill You,' challenging another genre.
Highlight, of which Lee Gi-kwang is a member, will hold its 2025 solo concert 'RIDE OR DIE' at KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Seoul, from July 11 to 13, and will continue its 'RIDE OR DIE' Asia tour in Taipei, Macau, Manila, Tokyo in August and in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur in September.
