Oh My Ghost Clients' Jung Kyung-ho learns the secret that the cleaning worker mother has been hiding.
The recently aired MBC weekend drama 'Oh My Ghost Clients' (written by Kim Bo-tong and Yoo Seung-hee, directed by Lim Soon-rye and Lee Han-jun) is gaining attention as a 'cider-inspired emotional' drama that addresses labor issues we often overlook. The ghost-seeing labor lawyer Jung Kyung-ho resolves the grievances of ghosts who have died while working in factories and hospitals. His gradual change into someone who feels a sense of mission as a labor lawyer has heightened expectations for future developments.
Amid this, the upcoming 5th episode of 'Oh My Ghost Clients', airing on the 13th, will depict a labor issue that Mu-jin can no longer dismiss as someone else's concern. He witnesses a shocking and absurd scene at the place he follows his mother, Yang Eun-ja (played by Jeon Guk-hyang), who works as a cleaning laborer.
In the released stills from the 5th episode, Mu-jin is following his mother Eun-ja. He has heard his father's lament that his mother secretly dresses up and goes out on weekends. The place his mother heads to is a university, where people around her are dressed up and elaborately prepared, raising questions.
Continuing to follow his mother, Mu-jin arrives at a classroom and sees a scene that he cannot believe, even after witnessing and hearing it firsthand. He sees cleaning workers gathered on the weekend taking a 'cultural exam' unassociated with their cleaning jobs. Mu-jin looks at his mother, struggling to answer the questions, with sympathy. He is appalled and angered by the humiliation faced by cleaning workers, raising curiosity about what exactly transpired in this 'absurd testing ground.'
Next to Mu-jin sits the third ghost client. The character Kim Young-sook, who meets an unjust death as a cleaning worker, is played by actress Kang Ae-sim, who left a strong impression as a lead in the OTT series 'Squid Game.' Actor Ahn Nae-sang also portrays cleaning worker Oh Jang-geun, enriching the drama further. The actors' passionate performances are adding to the anticipation for the immersion in the reality of the cleaning laborer's episodes.
The production team noted, 'In this episode, Mu-jin will confront the labor issue as a matter of 'family business.' As unimaginable situations unfold in his mother's workplace, an unmissable narrative will emerge. Viewers will deeply resonate with the stories of cleaning workers who are both Mu-jin's parents and our parents.'
'Oh My Ghost Clients' episode 5 will air on Friday, the 13th, at 9:50 p.m.
