Actor Kim Ji-hoon showed a divided reaction towards the awards ceremony.

On Nov. 11, an interview for the conclusion of SBS's weekend drama "The Haunted Palace" (written by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Sung-sik) was held at a cafe in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, Seoul.

Kim Ji-hoon captivated viewers by deeply expressing the complex aspects of the character 'King Lee Jeong,' who is a just monarch, a father loving his son, and a man with a pure love for a woman.

In particular, Kim Ji-hoon participated in a historical drama for the first time in 16 years since the 2009 drama "Cheonchu Taehuhu" with "The Haunted Palace," taking on his first role as a king since his debut, and "The Haunted Palace" consistently gained love from viewers, ranking first in Netflix in five countries and the Saturday mini-series ratings.

When asked about his expectations for the year-end awards ceremony, Kim Ji-hoon, who received praise for playing a multi-dimensional character instead of a typical king role, mentioned, "Going to the awards ceremony, I naturally let go of my mind entirely. I don't have much attachment to it; if I get an award, I'm grateful; if not, that's fine. I'm grateful if the work is loved, but my mom keeps..." referring to his mother's reaction.

Kim Ji-hoon stated, "I seem to have no expectations. My mom obviously wants the grand prize. I wonder, 'Why is this happening?'" adding, "Rather, I have a desire for the Best Couple Award with Kang Chul (played by Yook Sung-jae)."

The actor who shared the screen with him, Yook Sung-jae, also showcased a dual role in the drama. When asked about his thoughts on Yook Sung-jae's acting, Kim Ji-hoon responded, "He really does well. When he’s in the role of Kang Chul, his charm really increases. There are some comedic scenes, and he has an excellent sense for bringing those to life, so I thought that Sung-jae is great at acting as well as singing."

Meanwhile, the SBS weekend drama "The Haunted Palace," in which Kim Ji-hoon appeared, concluded on the 7th.
