(Following Interview 1) Actor So Ji-sub mentioned his wife Jo Eun-jung.

On the 12th, an interview with actor So Ji-sub for the Netflix series 'The Square' was held at a café in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The noir action 'The Square,' in which the character 'Gi-jun,' who had cut off his Achilles' heel and left the world of 'The Square,' returns after 11 years due to the death of his brother 'Gi-seok,' who was the second-in-command of the organization, to uncover the truth behind it, was released on Netflix on the 6th.

So Ji-sub, who performed high-level action in the film, recalled when asked about doing stunts, "At first, I said I could do it all myself. But there were many dangerous scenes that could lead to injury, and I did about 70-80% of the stunts myself. I did get a few scratches and bruises, but that is always the case."

Regarding the difficulties of action, he said, "Since I usually exercise a lot, I had almost no physical problems. It seems to depend on whether I can do it or not, according to the action design. I basically work out at the gym every day."

He also stated that he underwent weight loss for 'The Square,' saying, "I did it for the project, and I always need to be on a diet. I wanted to reduce my physique more during the process. In fact, the difference in kg is not that significant, about 3 kilograms. But it shows quite a difference on screen. Honestly, my weight is very different before and after the project. In the end, I was in the 70 kg range."

When reflecting on his thoughts for future actions, he expressed, "As long as I continue acting, I want to keep doing noir. Whether there’s a lot of action or not, I want to do it. My heart races and it becomes passionate."

He also mentioned his wife's reaction. In May 2019, So Ji-sub acknowledged his first public relationship with broadcaster Jo Eun-jung, who is 17 years younger than him, after 24 years since his debut. Then, in April 2020, he quietly registered their marriage without a separate wedding ceremony, becoming a legal couple.

So Ji-sub noted, "I don't think I talk much to my wife about my projects. I don't really discuss what I filmed today or things like that, as I don’t want her to worry. After watching 'The Square,' it seems like she recognized my struggles first. She responded, ‘That must have been tough for you.’"
