The rookie group KickFlip showcased explosive vocal skills befitting a 'K-pop super rookie' in the live clip video of the new song "Someday the Sun Will Explode."
KickFlip made their comeback on May 26 with the release of their second mini album "Kick Out, Flip Now!" and the title track "FREEZE." JYP Entertainment released a live clip content of the new album's third track "Someday the Sun Will Explode" on their official SNS channel on June 9, heating up fans' enthusiasm.
In the video, KickFlip, dressed in seven different school looks, sang the included track "Someday the Sun Will Explode," which member Donghwa participated in writing and composing, showcasing the dazzling capabilities of K-pop newcomers. The rhythmic melody and trendy vocal tones, along with the distinct personalities of members Gyehoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juhwang, Minje, K-Ju, and Donghyun, added to the diversity and enjoyment of listening. In particular, they demonstrated explosive vocal power with refreshing high notes. Standing in front of a microphone singing or freely wandering on the rooftop, the unique pleasant energy of KickFlip was palpable.
"Someday the Sun Will Explode" conveys a positive message urging listeners to live happily today without regrets rather than worrying about an uncertain future. Lyrics like "Someday that sun will explode, just go for it," "What are you hesitating for?" and "So just do it before the sun bursts," inspire courage in listeners.
KickFlip's debut comeback project "Kick Out, Flip Now!" received praise for its high quality, including the track "Someday the Sun Will Explode," as well as the title track "FREEZE," and songs "Jaegeunja," "Electricity," "Complicated!!," "Code Red," and "How We KickFlip." Reflecting the enthusiastic response, the album surpassed 340,655 copies in initial sales (sales volume within the first week after release) according to the record aggregation site Hanteo Chart.
The seven members have been actively participating in music broadcast activities, solidifying their presence as the 'next-generation stage masters.' They are scheduled to expand their presence further by performing at the large global music festival "Lollapalooza Chicago" in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois from July 31 to August 3 (local time), and at the urban festival "Summer Sonic Bangkok 2025" in Impact Challenger Hall, Bangkok, Thailand on August 23-24.
