'The First Night With the Duke' features a striking first meeting between Seo Hyun and Ok Taecyeon.

In KBS2's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' (written by Jeon Seon-young, directed by Lee Woong-hee and Kang Soo-yeon, produced by Studio N and Monster Union), the story of modern individual K (played by Seo Hyun), who has become the supporting character Cha Seon-taek from their favorite web novel 'The Tyrant's Obsession,' is depicted.

Student loan debt, failed part-time jobs, repeated job failures; K was the very portrait of a modern individual hiding at home, reading web novels. He despaired upon receiving the sudden notice of the web novel's unexpected serialization suspension, saying, "Serialization suspension? How much did I load in advance because of this?" He commented, "Do you know what you've done to me? You've robbed me of the joy of my life. I could write better than this even with my left foot," before drinking heavily and falling asleep.

When K opened his eyes, he found that although his face remained the same, he was dressed in beautiful clothes with fine hair and was being attended to by the maid Bangul (played by Oh Se-eun) as the noblewoman Cha Seon-taek.

As soon as K heard that name, he realized it. Since it was his favorite web novel, he remembered the sentences word for word; he identified his position with the line, 'Through the mouth of the daughter of the Prime Minister who happened to pass by, the evil deeds of Hwasun were widely spread.'

The sudden awareness of having fallen into Joseon was realized during family meal times. The Prime Minister Cha Ho-yeol (played by Seo Hyun-cheol) and the Lady Jeonggyeong Yoon Deok-jung (played by Yoon Yoo-sun) were his parents. His eldest brother, the firstborn Cha Jang-ho (played by Lee Sang-woon), and his second brother, Cha Du-ho (played by Kim Shin-bi), were completely devoted and doting towards their younger brother, while the third brother, Cha Se-ho (played by Yoon Jung-hoon), who seemed to have a certain sharp insight, was also clearly focused on his younger brother.

Moreover, his father was the Prime Minister, a wealthy man who loved his daughter. Cha Ho-yeol said, "Our Seon-taek, think of the honor of the Chang family from Yeonan; go dressed without leaving a penny behind," as he presented a large sum for tonight's social gathering. It was a complete contrast to the dark life he lived while gazing at his phone screen with pale skin. Cha Seon-taek happily exclaimed that Joseon was nice and then attended the Darong meeting.

Cha Seon-taek loved this novel immensely; as an orphan adopted by a merchant, she appreciated the kind heart and courage of the female protagonist, Jo Eun-ae (played by Kwon Han-sol), who achieved social elevation after meeting the male protagonist and royal hunting dog Gyeongseong-gun Ibeon (played by Ok Taecyeon). She also cherished the warm love of the best supporting male, Jeong Soo-gyeom (played by Seo Beom-jun) of the Hongmungwan.

Cha Seon-taek smiled in anticipation as she participated in the Darong meeting, which marked the beginning of the story under the full moon. However, when she saw Jo Eun-ae being ridiculed and scorned by the villainess Do Hwa-seon (played by Ji Hye-won) while being reproached for unfounded rumors, she could not hold back. The elegant noblewoman Cha Seon-taek swiftly stirred up the excitement in town by making 'bomb drinks' with her extravagant skills. After mixing and drinking various kinds of alcohol, Cha Seon-taek became intoxicated and closed her eyes.

In front of Cha Seon-taek was Ibeon, who looked refreshed as though he had just awoken that morning. He was to become the one and only husband of the protagonist Jo Eun-ae. Cha Seon-taek awoke with the morning sun, touching Ibeon's bare chest. Following her arrival in Joseon, she had turned into a blank sheet of paper in just a day.

Cha Seon-taek questioned him, saying, "What did you do to me?" Ibeon replied, "What you did to me last night, or rather, you tormented me," and smiled seductively. Cha Seon-taek slapped her own cheek, something she hadn't even done on her first day in Joseon. Cha Seon-taek mumbled, "What, this isn't a dream?" before her face went pale with despair.
