BTS RM, following V, will return to fans as Jimin and Jungkook.
On the morning of the 11th, BTS's Jimin and Jungkook will finish their 1 year and 6 months of military service and will be discharged. The agency Big Hit Music noted ahead of the discharge, "The discharge day is a day when many soldiers are discharged together. No official events will be held on discharge day, and the venues are very limited in space, raising concerns about safety accidents due to congestion," and stated, "We sincerely ask that you refrain from visiting the site, prioritizing the safety of artists and fans."
Jimin and Jungkook enlisted in active military service on Dec. 12, 2023, serving under the 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade to fulfill their defense obligations. Among them, Jungkook garnered attention by mentioning, "I'm doing well with the cooking" while serving as a cook.
On the 15th of last month, about a month before his discharge, Jungkook posted on Weverse, an official fan communication platform, "What's up? hehe I'm going out soon. I'm going to work out today, shoulders," and left comments sharing updates like, "Hobi hyung and Jin hyung are actively working, so please show them a lot of love, ARMYs hehe hehe. ARMYs also take good care of your health! Let's meet soon, our" which raised fans' expectations.
In particular, Jungkook made a positive impact by donating 1 billion won through Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association for support when large-scale forest fires occurred in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam in March this year while in military service. This is also the highest amount ever donated by a celebrity personally.
Jimin also conveyed his eager anticipation for his discharge in April, saying, "It's really not long now." He responded to a comment from Jin saying, "Are you doing well?" with, "I'm really doing my best to live well," and additionally noted, "It's been a really long time. I'm trying hard to stay healthy and avoid injuries," and expressed, "While I haven't seen you, I haven't thought of anything else, you are still my love. I'm holding these warm words in my heart and waiting every day. Let's just hold on a little longer and meet soon."
He also shared his thoughts in response to a fan's question about what he thinks before going to bed, saying, "These days, I think about how fast my hair will grow once I go out. It's okay to get earrings, right? I hope it won't get blocked. Should I change my fashion style a bit? I've never used perfume, should I try it? Since I worked out, dancing shouldn't be too hard, right? What song should I sing? What kind of album will we start our story with in the future? What journey will my 30s be? I want to perform on stage for a long time without being sick," expressing his anticipation for activities after discharge.
Amidst this, the two will reappear before the public as BTS members after completing their long service amidst the fans' eager wait. Prior to them, the eldest member Jin finished military service early in June last year, and J-Hope did so in October of the same year. Additionally, on the 10th, one day earlier, RM and V were discharged, and now with the discharge of Jimin and Jungkook, all BTS members except Suga have completed their military service.
Suga enlisted in September 2023 and is currently serving as a social service agent, with his release scheduled for the 21st. Previously, J-Hope hinted in March during an appearance on 'Fairy Jaehyeong's' channel, "Once the members are discharged, they will probably prepare various activities related to BTS." Also, to celebrate the 12th anniversary of BTS on the 13th, an offline event for the '2025 BTS FESTA' will be held at KINTEX Exhibition Center Hall 9-10 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, for two days on the 13th and 14th. Given the soon-to-be-complete discharge of all members and the coinciding anniversary of their debut, expectations are rising for their full group comeback.
