“It's more precious to share the moment than to take a picture.”

Sarah Jessica Parker (60), the star of 'Sex and the City,' revealed the reason she often declines fans' selfie requests. It's not just a simple refusal; her warm approach catches attention.

Parker recently appeared on the popular American show 'The Howard Stern Show' and shared her philosophy that she prefers conversations over photographs. She noted, “I’m always surprised when someone comes up and shoves a camera in my face. A heartfelt greeting is much better.”

In fact, she shared a recent story about an encounter with a fan at the airport. “A woman came up and asked, 'Can I take a picture?' without introducing herself or saying hello. So I asked, 'We’re meeting for the first time; what’s your name?'” After confirming that the fan's name was 'Julie,' she suggested a short conversation instead of a photo, saying, “I was sure it would be a much more meaningful time.”

Afterward, Julie returned to Parker after dining with her family, and the two had a brief but warm conversation.

Howard Stern, who appeared on the show with her, laughed and said, “She’s like a manners teacher,” but Parker explained, “It’s not that photo requests annoy me. It’s just that sometimes, a sudden approach can feel scary.”

She continued, “What I like is this: When someone comes up and says, 'It may not be the right time, but I’m Veronica. It’s an honor to meet you this way.’ That’s real connection.”

Valuing privacy, Parker has three children with Matthew Broderick. She always conveys the message to her children to grow up as individuals who can be emotionally and financially independent.

Last month, she revealed in an E! News interview that she hopes her children can do interesting and fulfilling work and become trustworthy individuals in their lives and the world, showing her genuine maternal feelings.

In the short airport episode, Sarah Jessica Parker chose genuine 'communication' with a fan. Many nod in agreement with her decision to choose moments of deep empathy over just one selfie.
