In 'With Dad and Me,' Lee Geon-joo recalled her meeting with her younger brother 18 years ago.
On the broadcast of TV Chosun's entertainment show 'With Dad and Me' on the 10th, Lee Geon-joo met her biological younger brother who was adopted to France.
On that day, Lee Geon-joo went to find her adopted brother, and after spotting him from a distance, she was moved to tears. Fortunately, her brother smiled brightly upon seeing Lee Geon-joo. As they embraced for the first time after waiting so long, they both shed tears. After countless days, they finally met their blood relative. Currently, her brother is 42 years old, and his name in France is Julien. He was adopted to France at the age of 1. Her brother said, 'After learning about my adoption, I had many questions. I wanted to know where I came from, what country I was from, and what my roots are.'
When asked about the first meeting with her brother, she said, 'I first met my brother 18 years ago.' In fact, Lee Geon-joo was 27 years old when they first met, and her brother was 25. She also shared a photo taken 18 years ago with their great-aunt and grandmother. Lee Geon-joo's brother expressed, 'I wanted to experience Korea and learn about Korean culture,' adding, 'I brought my adoption documents and learned about having a brother through someone who was in Korea.' He recounted his past when he traveled to Seoul to find his biological family.
Although the siblings who had been separated by life met again, communication was not easy. After the first meeting, the siblings gradually drifted apart. After that first meeting, due to some misunderstandings, her brother left Korea. He said, 'I think I was less prepared to be with my family.' He noted, 'When I asked my brother about our mom, he didn't know much. We both couldn't speak English well, which made communication difficult. We didn't understand each other and didn't know much about our parents, leading to misunderstandings.' However, her brother expressed happiness at meeting again, stating, 'I was really happy to see my brother again. I was happy to reconnect as siblings. I'm glad I can speak honestly now.'
