The First Night With the Duke director apologized for the controversy over the damage to Byeongsan Seowon.

On the 11th, a production presentation for KBS2's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' (written by Jeon Seon-young, directed by Lee Woong-hee and Kang Soo-yeon, planned and produced by Studio N and Monster Union) was held at the D-Cube City The Stage in Sin-dong, Guro District, Seoul.

'The First Night With the Duke' (hereinafter referred to as 'The First Night With the Duke') is a 'no brakes' romantic fantasy drama where a supporting character in a romance novel with the spirit of an ordinary female university student spends a night with the male lead who has an obsessive love, showcasing a romance that breaks clichés predicted by no one. It has not only recorded a reader rating of 9.8 but also surpassed 600 million views cumulatively for the original web novel and webtoon on Naver Series, promising an exhilarating emotional impact.

'The First Night With the Duke' became embroiled in controversy over allegedly damaging Byeongsan Seowon, which is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site, prior to its broadcast. In response, KBS decided to discard all the footage that caused the controversy after discussions.

Director Lee Woong-hee said, "Personally, I would like to express my apologies for causing concern due to the controversy over the damage to Byeongsan Seowon in the production process of this drama."

He added, "We did wrong, and all the footage after the incident has been discarded. KBS has reorganized the guidelines. It's not about tooting our horn for something great; rather, we are still under investigation, so we have taken the measures we can as a priority. Due to the properties of the wood, it needs to be monitored for a year, so specific recovery details have not been released yet, but we will keep an eye on it. The drama should energize viewers, and I sincerely apologize for delivering bad news during the production process."

KBS2's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' will air for the first time at 9:50 p.m. on the 11th.
