Following the interview, actor Lee Jeong-ha expressed his anticipation for the second season of 'Moving.'
On Nov. 11, an interview was conducted with Lee Jeong-ha, the lead actor of the Wave original 'ONE: High School Heroes,' at the Post Tower in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.
Based on the webtoon 'ONE' by writer Lee Eun-jae, 'ONE: High School Heroes' is a high school action drama in which top student Eui-gyeom (played by Lee Jeong-ha), who suffers from his father's oppression, teams up with Yoon-gi (played by Kim Do-wan), who aims to utilize his natural fighting talent, to form a masked group called 'High School Heroes' and explode their repressed anger, overturning the hierarchy of school violence.
When asked why he chose 'ONE: High School Heroes' after 'Moving,' Lee Jeong-ha noted, "I didn't feel that Eui-gyeom from 'Moving' and Eui-gyeom from 'ONE: High School Heroes' were similar. I read a lot of webtoons, and when I got to appear in 'Moving,' it felt like I became the protagonist from the webtoon, so in the case of 'ONE: High School Heroes,' I challenged myself with the gratitude of wondering, 'Can I do this?' as someone who liked Eui-gyeom."
He honestly shared his thoughts on doing works based on webtoons in succession, saying, "I like it. Creating characters is really difficult, isn't it? Since the writer put their soul into this great webtoon, I try to preserve the feeling I get when reading it as much as possible, so it feels comfortable and good."
In particular, Lee Jeong-ha received a rookie award for his performance in 'Moving,' garnering great responses. When asked if he felt any pressure in choosing his next project, he responded, "I was grateful to receive the award, but it wasn't after receiving the award; I always felt pressure from the beginning. Even if I try to enjoy this pressure, being human, it's always in my heart. However, when I tell my seniors, 'I'm feeling pressured about this scene,' and they say, 'I'm nervous too,' it eases the burden. Talking about it actually helps me relax, and by going to the set early to adapt, the pressure decreases. As I accumulate such experiences, I think I'll be able to act more comfortably later on."
He also talked about the second season of 'Moving.' He said, "In the 'Light Shop' scene, isn't Hee-su (played by Go Youn-jung) supposed to go to the police station? I asked the writer, 'Can't I go? Can't I go with her?' but they said, 'Bong-seok is saving the world, so he can't go.' I don't know much about season 2, but when I asked because I was curious, he said, 'Season 2 will be much larger in scale and more fun than season 1.' I'm really looking forward to it."
When asked if Bong-seok would appear in season 2, he conveyed, "Bong-seok will probably come out. It seems like the writer is writing it, so I don't know well either," adding to the curiosity.
Meanwhile, 'ONE: High School Heroes' will release its final episode on the 13th. Lee Jeong-ha hinted about the ending, saying, "I tried to reflect it as much as possible without breaking the framework of the webtoon. I liked it." When asked about plans for a second season of 'ONE: High School Heroes,' he said, "If I get the chance, I can do it, but when I was with the other actors, I asked, 'Can we do a season 2?' As the original ends with 'ONE.' But the director said, 'We can create the content,' and he said that if there's a chance, let's do it right away," building anticipation.
