SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan practiced sharing once again for his hometown of Jeju.

On the 11th, according to his agency Pledis Entertainment, Seungkwan generously donated 20 million won to the Korea Heritage Service and the Cultural Heritage Trust, asking that it be used to preserve Jeju's precious heritage. The donation will be used for the preservation process of the Jeju 4·3 records, which were registered as a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage in April.

Hailing from Jeju, Seungkwan has been practicing sharing for his hometown in various ways. As a promotional ambassador for Jeju, he contributed to the Hometown Love Donation through the Jeju Provincial Office last November, helping to protect the endangered southern resident killer whale.

Additionally, Seungkwan gained attention during his attendance at the '13th UNESCO Youth Forum' held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France in 2023, where he informed that Jeju is the world's first region to be designated simultaneously in three institutional sectors by UNESCO for its natural environment. SEVENTEEN, of which he is a member, was the first K-pop artist to be allocated a special session at the event, and was appointed as UNESCO's first Youth Goodwill Ambassador last year, leading social contribution activities.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN released their fifth studio album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' on the 26th of last month, the date marking their 10th debut anniversary. The new album has recorded the highest first-week sales of any K-pop album released this year and entered at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated June 14), receiving positive responses from global music fans.
