As speculation mounts that former LE SSERAFIM member Kim Ga-ram will return to the entertainment industry, Modenberry Korea, which has reportedly been in contract discussions, dismissed the claim, stating it is "groundless."
On the 11th, Modenberry Korea stated to OSEN regarding reports about a contract with Kim Ga-ram that it is "groundless."
Kim Ga-ram debuted as a member of the girl group LE SSERAFIM under the label Source Music, a subsidiary of HYBE, in May 2022. However, allegations of school bullying against Kim Ga-ram surfaced from April 2022, when the debut teaser was released, prompting the agency to explain that this was a matter that had been maliciously edited, based on early issues that occurred during her initial years of friendship after entering middle school.
Subsequently, the agency noted, "During her time in middle school, she was actually a victim of malicious rumors and cyberbullying, which was confirmed through statements from third parties," adding, "We believe the allegations are driven by malicious intent to defame the artist before her debut and have initiated legal action against unilateral, distorted claims or the dissemination of false facts related to this matter."
However, further revelations followed, and even the 'School Violence Countermeasure Committee Notification Letter' was made public, causing a stir. In response, the agency acknowledged that Kim Ga-ram was confirmed as the perpetrator in a violence case by the School Violence Countermeasure Committee and received a level 5 sanction, but insisted that she was merely accompanied by friends to protest against the actions of a victim who uploaded a photo of Kim Ga-ram's friend undressing, stating, "There was no collective physical or bodily violence."
The agency stated, "Throughout this debut process, she has faced various rumors and has been experiencing psychological difficulties as a result. We decided to temporarily suspend activities in consultation with Kim Ga-ram and focus on healing her injured heart." Following this, LE SSERAFIM continued to operate with five members, and Kim Ga-ram ultimately could not return to the team, terminating her contract and leaving in July of the same year.
Amid this, on the 18th of last month, Kim Ga-ram opened a personal SNS account and posted recent photos, leading to speculation about her return to the entertainment industry. Recently, there were reports that Kim Ga-ram was in discussions with Modenberry Korea regarding a contract and that details were being adjusted in a positive atmosphere.
However, in relation to this, Modenberry Korea drew a line, stating to OSEN that it is "groundless." While it is true that they had a meeting with Kim Ga-ram, it is rumored that they concluded not to proceed with a contract.
Meanwhile, Modenberry Korea is home to several members, including Somi from DIA, CAP from Teen Top, UHN-B from Bigflo, and Chi-hoon from TO1.
