Cha Eun-jung, a former member of the girl group Cleo, announced her marriage and clearly refuted the allegations of 'rebound romance' raised during the grants for Mnet's 'Couple Palace 2', saying, "Absolutely not."

On the 10th, according to OSEN's investigation, Cha Eun-jung was confirmed to have been single during the filming of 'Couple Palace 2' and was not dating her fiancé, whom she announced her marriage with.

Earlier that day, according to her agency, StarMade Entertainment, Cha Eun-jung will hold her wedding with her non-celebrity boyfriend at an undisclosed location in Seoul on August 31. Her fiancé is known to work in the broadcasting industry.

Regarding this, Cha Eun-jung also shared her thoughts on marriage via social media. She stated, "Due to a collection of unexpected events, it is really not an easy start, but I am spending this time more variably and happily than anyone else."

She also expressed her affection towards her boyfriend, saying, "As it is a marriage that I am doing after growing up, my feelings are complex, and I have more and more thoughts every day. Because of my very impatient and bulldozer-like personality, I am grateful and love my other half who is going through a lot of hardship."

In particular, her fiancé, who is a videographer, also shared a video he made himself. In the video, Cha Eun-jung said, "We met at this café a year ago, and we recently spent our one-year anniversary together, and we are expected to become August’s bride."

However, some raised suspicion that she was already dating during the grants for 'Couple Palace 2'.

Previously, Cha Eun-jung had appeared on Mnet's couple matching program 'Couple Palace 2', which ended in April. At that time, she attracted attention by revealing her desire to have a child within a year and confessing to having frozen her eggs, showing her seriousness about marriage.

Cha Eun-jung failed to advance to 'Palace Week' and left the show, but later, she revealed that she and her boyfriend celebrated their one-year anniversary, raising doubts about the authenticity of her appearance on the program.

However, in response, the agency stated, "Filming for 'Couple Palace 2' took place in the second half of last year, and at that time, she was indeed single," and explained in detail, "Cha Eun-jung and her fiancé have known each other for about a year, they distanced for a time but recently met again due to circumstances and developed a good relationship, leading to their engagement."

Meanwhile, Cha Eun-jung, who debuted in 1999 with Cleo's 'Cleo 1st Album', continued her solo career under the name 'Angel' even after the disbandment of Cleo. She also formed a girl group in Hong Kong and has been active in various fields, including as an MC and director.

Additionally, after appearing on MBC's 'Mask Singer' and TV Chosun's 'Tomorrow is Miss Trot 2' in 2020, she reformed 'Cleo' as a trio with the new members Gu Do-kyung and Dini last November and has continued her activities, recently releasing her second city pop single 'Tonight'.
